[name_m]Hi[/name_m] guys! I’ve been more and more drawn to unusual names lately, especially word names. For some reason the name [name_m]Jupiter[/name_m] for a boy really appeals to me, and I love the nickname Jupe. Does anyone have opinions on this name or can think of any similar names? also do you think the old schoolyard rhyme “boys go to [name_m]Jupiter[/name_m] to get more stupider” would become a reason for teasing? Thanks!!!
For me, it is. Sorry.
[name_m]Jupiter[/name_m] is pretty out there (no pun intended). I think it would be really hard to pull off. Maybe as a middle name?
I think it is, but I like it!
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] works so why can’t [name_m]Jupiter[/name_m]?!
It would be too far out for me, but maybe not for you I wouldn’t worry about teasing (never heard that rhyme), more about how the resume looks when he’s 30. But even that is subject to differing opinions and what kind of job he has. Could be an advantage for creative careers. You could always give him initials that work as a first name (J.T. Lastname or J.D. Lastname) to give him a fallback should he ever find his name to be unwieldy.
I think [name_m]Jupiter[/name_m] is just too much. I’d think his parents were weirdos. Sorry.
He would almost definitely be the only kid in his class with that name, but [name_m]Jupiter[/name_m] is really appealing to me. Mythology names are getting more popular. My little cousin has two kids named Ares in her class, a boy and a girl. If Ares can work, why not [name_m]Jupiter[/name_m]? [name_m]Jupiter[/name_m] also has the -er ending in common with a lot of popular names. I’d love to see it get more use.
I quite like it! Strong, handsome, quirky, great mythological tie… Actually I could imagine other kids loving his name rather than teasing him about that. And it’s so similar to [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] which everyone agrees is a totally usable name.
I like that it’s different. It’s not completely my style but I would love to meet a little [name_m]Jupiter[/name_m]! However, I’m having trouble figuring out a nickname. Maybe middle name starting with a T or C or an R to make J.T., J.C., or J.R.? unless of course you have one of those letters for your last name already in that case perfect! (Only reason I mention the nickname is because I get lazy sometimes with my own kid’s names and shorten them from time to time even though I thought I wouldn’t before I had kids.) But yes, I think [name_m]Jupiter[/name_m] is definitely cool.
I saw an article today on the upcoming film [name_m]Jupiter[/name_m] Ascending and now I’m wondering if that name won’t gain some momentum next year… expect the [name_m]Jupiter[/name_m] in the movie is a girl ([name_f]Mila[/name_f] Kunis).
To me, it sounds more like a girl’s name
I like it, but I think it would work better as a middle name probably. I don’t like nn Jupe much. Here in the south old people call bars Jupe Joints or juke joints lol not a good connotation. I love [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. Would you conisider [name_m]Judah[/name_m] and [name_u]Jude[/name_u] as a nn?
