[name_f]My[/name_f] American roommate (I’m studying abroad) absolutely loves the name [name_f]Carissa[/name_f] since it has that sweet feminine taste while not being overly popular like [name_f]Emma[/name_f] or [name_u]Madison[/name_u]. She loathes “yoo-neek” spellings but has a liking for the letter K, and would love to name her future child [name_f]Karissa[/name_f]. Her only problem is, (and I’ll get to the point since I found myself rambling) is [name_f]Karissa[/name_f] too weird of a spelling?
I don’t think so. It’s very pretty! I think [name_f]Karissa[/name_f] looks better than [name_f]Carissa[/name_f] (which I would constantly misread as [name_f]Clarissa[/name_f]), and I don’t think it’s too weird at all. In fact, it would fit in quite nicely – even spelled with a K.
I don’t think it is too weird. With the popularity of [name_f]Clarissa[/name_f] and [name_f]Cara[/name_f] and [name_f]Carina[/name_f] (and spelling everything with a k), why not [name_f]Karissa[/name_f]? Personally, it isn’t my favorite, but it definitely isn’t too weird.
I know a [name_f]Karissa[/name_f] spelled with a K. It isn’t weird at all.
No, not at all. [name_f]Karissa[/name_f] is similar in sound to a lot of other popular baby names ([name_f]Karen[/name_f], [name_f]Krista[/name_f], [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f], etc.) that I don’t think you should worry about it not fitting in. Also, there doesn’t seem to be any pronunciation issues surrounding the name, so that certainly helps.
Personally I prefer the c
I prefer [name_f]Carissa[/name_f],but [name_f]Karissa[/name_f] isn’t weird at all. I think it’s pretty.
