[name_f]Leah[/name_f] has been one of my top names for a decade. But I never really thought much about it because I didn’t know if it was too boring. I tried names like [name_f]Aaliyah[/name_f]/[name_f]Aleah[/name_f] but don’t like them near as much as just [name_f]Leah[/name_f].
Middle name options would be something like [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] or [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] (honour).
Any opinions on [name_f]Leah[/name_f] are welcome! Thanks.
[name_f]Leah[/name_f] pronounced [name_u]Lee[/name_u]-uh is a little bland. I much prefer [name_f]Leah[/name_f]’s original pronunciation of [name_m]Lay[/name_m]-uh. I think it’s very elegant.
I personally, am not a fan of [name_f]Leah[/name_f], but that’s because of the amount of them around my age. I go find it a little plain, but next to a more creative middle name, I think it’s fine.
I don’t care for the lay-uh pronunciation, just lee-uh. But thanks for your opinion.
Popularity isn’t a concern either, it’s a classic name so bound to have good usage. Would people think of [name_f]Leah[/name_f] as being a bit ‘meh’ because of this though? That’s my main concern.
At the end of the day, popular names are popular for a reason. There’s nothing wrong with [name_f]Leah[/name_f], objectively speaking. [name_m]Will[/name_m] some people not like it because if it’s popularity? Yes. But some people don’t like obscure names, and high popularity means a lot of people like it. [name_f]Leah[/name_f] ticks a lot of boxes, feminine without frilly, easy to pronounce and spell, familiar.
I like [name_f]Leah[/name_f], it isn’t particularly out there or unique, but it’s definitely a pretty name. If you really love it then I don’t think there are really any negatives to it!
I adore the name [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] but I don’t think it flows well with [name_f]Leah[/name_f], I’m not a fan of [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] but I think [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] has a better sound.
I think [name_f]Leah[/name_f] is lovely imo. I’ve only ever met one little girl with the name and she was the absolute sweetest little thing. She’d be about 11 or so now, I think.
Yes, it’s popular but it’s more classic than anything else imo.
[name_f]Leah[/name_f] is a beautiful, classic name! I wouldn’t call it boring per say but it’s not really a ‘wow’ name either. I think a nice middle name changes everything for more common names. I like your [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] combo and it’s meaning to you as an honoring name.
Thanks for your opinions so far! Helps a lot in deciding whether or not to add it to my shortlist.
The flow with [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] isn’t great I know, but as an honour I’m hoping the flow doesn’t really come into play. There’s also [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] as an honour but possibly too sing-songy. Or even [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], but not sure if -ah and eh- is too much together. All my honour names are a pain with [name_f]Leah[/name_f] it seems!
I love it, doesn’t need to be frilly to be lovely. [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] repeats -> [name_f]Leah[/name_f]-[name_f]Anna[/name_f] -[name_u]Lee[/name_u]-s… I don’t love the combination but [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] ( even with the [name_f]Leah[/name_f]-thea thing because it’s an honor name) is lovely. If you really want it to be longer use [name_f]Analise[/name_f] [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] and call her [name_f]Leah[/name_f], it’s a logical enough leap and also nice, it’s a lot of c/s and ee sounds but the a sounds aren’t both at the end which is nice, is a nice name.
I love [name_f]Leah[/name_f]! I have [name_f]Leorah[/name_f] , she goes by [name_f]Leah[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Leah[/name_f] is classic, strong and soft at the same time and fits into so many styles. I have never actually known another [name_f]Leah[/name_f] even though it’s fairly common. I think [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] is pretty. My baby is [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f].
Sorry, I personally do find it dull! I’ve known so many [name_f]Leah[/name_f]'s or girls with the nickname [name_f]Lia[/name_f].
I wouldn’t describe it as a classic name either, since it feels quite 2000’s to me.
If you love [name_f]Leah[/name_f] so much you could always give her a longer first name and call her [name_f]Leah[/name_f], in case she’d rather stand out. For example, I’m a [name_f]Celia[/name_f] and I’ve been called [name_f]Lia[/name_f] before. Other ideas are [name_f]Helia[/name_f], [name_f]Lilia[/name_f], [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], [name_f]Jillian[/name_f], [name_f]Lianna[/name_f], [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], [name_f]Amalia[/name_f], [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f], [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Thalia[/name_f].
I mean this is subject to opinion but personally, it’s not exciting or interesting, doesn’t make my ears perk up. That being said I dont think my personal subjective opinion on how interesting I find the name should influence you at all.
I wouldn’t call it boring or bland. It is classic and feminine and soft without being frilly. So if you don’t mind the popularity of it I think it’s a great choice
