šŸŒ™ is luna a nickname for anything?

there’s a luna in the show wolf pack and her full name is elizabeth, but iā€˜ve never heard luna as a nickname for anything and elizabeth seems so far-fetched.

did the writers make it up or is this an actual thing? tysm!

It was probably made up. [name_f]Luna[/name_f] can be a nickname for [name_f]Lunaria[/name_f] or [name_f]Lunette[/name_f]!

I’m not familiar with the show, but I’d guess it’s a nickname that refers to something else than the person’s actual name - like calling red-haired people ā€œGingerā€ or something like that.

I’m guessing the nickname [name_f]Luna[/name_f] might have more to do with the moon/werewolf elements of her character? Based on the show’s name, as I’ve never seen it.

Guessing in the case of the show it’s just a nickname to do with the whole moon-wolf thing.

But [name_f]Luna[/name_f] could be a nn to Luanna/Luanna or maybe [name_f]Luciana[/name_f]?

I would say it could be a nickname for [name_u]Louise[/name_u]

Never heard of it for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] but maybe [name_f]Eluned[/name_f]?

thank you all so much! iā€˜m so glad this 3 am thought is out of my system now hahaha

@Wandarine @Greyblue and @snowmaiden that makes so much sense tbh, spoiler alert: she’s a wolf, so maybe she just didn’t like her name and named herself after the moon instead, probably just writers being :sparkles:quirky

I wouldn’t expect it for Elizabeth… But definitely for names like [name_f]Luella[/name_f], [name_f]Evaluna[/name_f], [name_f]Lunette[/name_f], Lunaris, Lunara, Saluna, [name_f]Lunabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Adeluna[/name_f], etc.
