Is Maisie usable?

I love the name [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], but it feels childish- I couldn’t picture a CEO named [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], for example. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any suggestions for what might make a good full name for it? (Other than [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], por favor.)

I think any Ma- beginning name could have [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] as a nn, but I do like it as a stand alone name.

Especially these days where names like [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] are commonplace and people name their children [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], [name_u]Sonny[/name_u], [name_u]Max[/name_u] or [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] as full names, I think Masie is fine

I think [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] works on its own but just simple [name_f]May[/name_f] would also work or if you wanted something longer try something like [name_f]Maelle[/name_f], [name_f]Maya[/name_f] or [name_u]Maison[/name_u].

[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] totally works on its own! When your baby is an adult–CEOs will be named [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u], [name_f]Zoey[/name_f] and [name_u]Riley[/name_u].

I think you should use [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]. She could always shorten it to [name_f]May[/name_f] and lolo0812 is right, when [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] is CEO There will be other CEO’s with similar names.

It’s usable for sure, in the sense that people use it and it’s fine, but I skew more toward sharing your concern. It’s true that when babies born now are adults, CEOs’ names will be the names that are popular now, but what I think you’re saying is that you want a more versatile name that allows [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] to be used as a nickname, which is also totally fine. (And for what it’s worth, to my ear, [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] sounds a lot more like a nickname than a lot of the names people have listed here - [name_f]Zoe[/name_f], [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u], and [name_u]Riley[/name_u] are standalone names and never nicknames; [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], and [name_u]Max[/name_u] can all go either way; and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] and [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] sound like nicknames to me like [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] does, so although I accept that they’re used on their own, to me they all sound kind of juvenile).

But [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] can come from anywhere. I think the rules are pretty loose. I see you have [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Marcella[/name_f] in your sig, and I think you could get away with [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] as a nickname for either if you wanted to. All the [name_f]Mary[/name_f] variants - [name_f]Mary[/name_f], [name_f]Maria[/name_f], [name_f]Marie[/name_f], [name_f]Mariana[/name_f], [name_f]Mariska[/name_f] (which I know is also a diminutive but sounds a lot more substantial to me than [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] does), [name_f]Marina[/name_f], [name_f]Mariam[/name_f] - are up for grabs, but really I think you could get away with it with most M names.

I think [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] would work just fine on its own!

Two of my favorites are [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], so [name_m]Ive[/name_m] thought using [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] as a sometimes nickname for [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] tho both are nicknames for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. Not sure how people feel about that one, would like to hear opinions myself!

Perfectly useable.

It is usable, but I don’t care for it

I think [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] works just fine!
