Give it to me honestly. WDYT of the name [name_f]Maude[/name_f] for a little girl today?
Absolutely! I think [name_f]Maude[/name_f] is super sweet and totally ready for a revival! I can absolutely picture it on a modern child
I definitely think it’s usable. Without a doubt! And what a pretty name it is!
I like Maude! I think most would still find it quite clunky, but it’s almost hipster in its dustiness. I think it will remain quite polarizing in the US for a while though – a “love it or hate it” sort of name. I am interested to see its trajectory in the next few years, especially with the increasing familiarity of Maude Apatow.
I think it’s definitely usable! It reminds me of [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] which has become very popular lately.
yes it’s totally usable !! i’ve known a couple of maudes, all under 25. and it’s super cute too <3
It gives me a similar feel to names like [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Gwen[/name_f], [name_f]Sloane[/name_f] and [name_f]Jade[/name_f], but also to [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Maddie[/name_f], [name_f]Molly[/name_f], and [name_f]Flora[/name_f]. I think it could work - unexpected, but I would love to meet a little [name_f]Maude[/name_f]!
Plus, [name_f]Maudie[/name_f] or [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] as nn might work too
Good point about [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. I never thought that one would come back as fiercely as it has. I think you are right about [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and [name_f]Maude[/name_f] having similar feels, too. Although I think [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Gwen[/name_f], [name_f]Sloane[/name_f], and [name_f]Jade[/name_f] have more “pleasing” or at least familiar vowel sounds to them, especially [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_f]Jade[/name_f] with their long a sounds.
It’s interesting because there are some rather clunky names I can see on a tween or teenage girl.
[name_f]Maude[/name_f] or [name_f]Maud[/name_f] is definitely one of them. So is [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] .
[name_f]Maude[/name_f] definitely works! I’d love to see it more on little ones
I know a couple of young Maude/Mauds (I prefer the E spelling). It’s really grown on me lately and now I find it chic and sparky!
Absolutely usable!
[name_f]Maude[/name_f] is clunky cool, nostalgic and feels warm. [name_f]Vintage[/name_f] names are incredibly fashionable and she would fit in with names like [name_f]Agatha[/name_f], [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] and [name_m]Wilfred[/name_m].
Definitely useable
[name_f]Love[/name_f] Maude!! [name_f]Super[/name_f] gorgeous and clunky-cool vintage, and love how underused she is!!
For me I can’t see it in the UK even though some upper class are going for it. But I think it’s really popular with Americans on here. I really struggle with it sounding like/rhyming with bored as well as it feeling incredibly dated. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] feels much nicer to me (the Latin/longer version)
[name_f]Maudie[/name_f] feels slightly more usable to me
Maude’s a funny one because although the sound is super clunky, the imagery I get is by contrast really delicate and lacy, think the colour mauve and doilies. I like it
I wouldn’t use it as a first name, but absolutely as a middle name
For sure usable - and adorable. In fact, it should be used more!
I’m not the biggest fan
I actually prefer [name_f]Maudie[/name_f] heh
But it isn’t a bad name for other people and I think it’s usable and actually kinda pretty- honestly any name can be nice depending on whoever has it haha🤙 so yeah it’s usable
