I’m expecting, and I still don’t know the sex, but, if it’s a girl, I absolutely love the name [name]Nora[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]. After my husband and I came up with the name, I remembered that our nephew [name]Noah[/name] has the middle name [name]Joseph[/name]. Sigh.
I tried to come up with other middle names for [name]Nora[/name] ([name]Clementine[/name], [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Genevieve[/name], etc.), but I don’t love any of them the way I love [name]Josephine[/name]. What do you think? Is [name]Nora[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] too similar to [name]Noah[/name] [name]Joseph[/name]? If so, do you have any other suggestions for middle names for [name]Nora[/name]?
[name]Nora[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is a lovely combo and I wouldn’t let a cousin’s name ruin a combo you love. It would be too close for siblings but not for cousins. Many cousins often share names especially if they’re common and/or they honor family. [name]Don[/name]'t sweat it!
I agree… [name]Nora[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is very similar to [name]Noah[/name] [name]Joseph[/name], but since they are cousins, I think it’s fine. If you’re worried about it, you could talk to [name]Noah[/name] [name]Joseph[/name]'s mom and see what she thinks. Since it’s a middle name that is so similar, if I were her, I wouldn’t have a problem with it at all… most especially if you are honouring a family member with that name.
I love [name]Nora[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]! It has class and style! I wouldn’t let a cousin’s name take away from your choice. I don’t think anyone would say a word. It’s beautiful!
It will probably be fine, but if it were me I would try to find another middle with similar rhythm, like [name]Zephirine[/name]/[name]Celestine[/name]/[name]Emmeline[/name] or something, maybe [name]Jessamine[/name]/[name]Giselle[/name]. I could handle either first OR middle being close, but [name]Nora[/name]/[name]Noah[/name] and [name]Joseph[/name]/[name]Josephine[/name] is REALLY close as a FN/MN combo. Especially if it’s not for a “reason” like both being named for a shared grandparent.
I’m sorry to say this, but if I were you, I wouldn’t. I find it way too close, even for cousins. Also, I don’t think the best way to approach this would be to talk to [name]Noah[/name]'s mom to see if she’s okay with using [name]Nora[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]. [name]Even[/name] if she isn’t okay with it, she probably would feel like she had to say it was fine or seem petty. I think it’s just best to assume that she might not like the idea and change your own name accordingly.
I love the [name]Nora[/name] [name]Jessamine[/name] and [name]Nora[/name] [name]Celestine[/name] suggestions.
[name]How[/name] set are you on [name]Nora[/name]? I love [name]Flora[/name] nn [name]Flo[/name]! Still close, but better…
I think they are very, very similar! If [name]Joseph[/name]/[name]Josephine[/name] were family names and the cousins had been named to honour the same person then that is fair game. If they aren’t family names then I’d check with [name]Noah[/name] [name]Joseph[/name]'s parents and see if they mind or not. It shouldn’t be a big problem but in case it is then at least you know beforehand.
Siblings–too close, Cousins–not a big deal! They might even think it is a cool connection! [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Nora[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] btw
i dont think it’s that big of a deal, considering they’re cousins. If it bothers you then just change the middle name, but [name]Nora[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is lovely! I dont think it’s a problem at all.
