We’re considering [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] as a name for our daughter. When I think of [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], I think of olives and [name_f]Italy[/name_f] and dark skinned girls with green eyes. [name_m]Will[/name_m] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] sound weird on her? Our daughter will probably be fair skinned, blonde, and blue-eyed. [name_m]Will[/name_m] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] work for her too?
My ex-sister-in-law is very, very fair, blonde (almost white), with blue eyes. Her name is Olivia. I personally do not think of olives with Olivia, I do with Olive.
The only [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] I’ve ever known was hispanic. Tanned skin, dark hair, and brown eyes. For me personally I can’t picture a fair skinned, blonde, blue-eyed girl named [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] but that’s only because of my personal association with the name.
the only [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] I’ve known was fair skinned with light brown hair, but I honestly don’t associate it with anything. I also agree that I don’t think of olives when I hear [name_f]Olivia[/name_f].
When I picture [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], I picture a girl I know with that name, and she’s blonde with fair skin and greenish eyes. [name_f]Olive[/name_f] I would definitely see as an olive skinned girl, but [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] I can picture as anyone.
I always see an [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] as having fair skin, blue eyes and light hair, because both of the [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]'s I’ve have been blonde and blue eyed.
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]'s so popular right now, I really don’t connect it to a particular appearance or origin even. The [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] I knew is black, so has dark hair and brown eyes. I think it can work on anyone.
I’ve known a couple of [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]'s, all different. My niece is an [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], and she’s fair. It’s a classic name that can work on anyone, imo
I know a few Olivias and they all look very different. I think its such a common name that there will be someone with any combination of features with it.
The little [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] in my family is much like the rest of us with somewhat typical Italian traits - light olive skin, dark hair, dark eyes, and petite stature. I don’t know any other Olivias, but I don’t think [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] would sound wrong on a blue-eyed blonde at all! I say go for it! It’s a lovely name and works regardless of what a girl looks like. I just happen to be from a very Italian family where there is an [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
