Is Ophelia too popular?

I love this name but it seems to be quite popular. Opinions? Alternatives?
TIA
(this is hypothetical by the way)

Not too popular yet, but definitely trending

What about [name_f]Octavia[/name_f], [name_f]Celia[/name_f], [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f], [name_f]Sophronia[/name_f] as alternatives?

I donā€™t think it could be considered ā€˜too popularā€™ unless you particularly wanted to find a very rare name.
Some alternatives could be
[name_f]Ophelie[/name_f] (same name, french version)
[name_f]Odessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Odette[/name_f]
[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]
[name_f]Opaline[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicia[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]

Edited to add Odile and Odilia as some other ideas

I think it will be in about 5-10 years time, but not yet. I think it will gradually replace [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], at the moment I think itā€™s talked about a lot, also a lot by teenagers, which makes it seem more currently popular than it is.

[name_f]Odette[/name_f] and [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] are some of faves. [name_f]Odessa[/name_f], [name_f]Orla[/name_f], [name_f]Osla[/name_f], [name_f]Orabella[/name_f], [name_f]Oriana[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], [name_f]Delia[/name_f], [name_f]Celia[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Josefina[/name_f], [name_f]Josepha[/name_f]/Josefa, [name_f]Rosalia[/name_f], [name_f]Amalia[/name_f], [name_f]Filomena[/name_f], [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], [name_f]Ottilia[/name_f], [name_f]Olwen[/name_f], [name_m]Oslo[/name_m], [name_f]Octavia[/name_f], [name_f]Orchid[/name_f], [name_f]Aurelie[/name_f], [name_f]Olga[/name_f], [name_f]Olya[/name_f], [name_f]Olia[/name_f], [name_m]Ola[/name_m], [name_u]Oda[/name_u], [name_f]Obelia[/name_f], [name_f]Odalys[/name_f], [name_f]Odele[/name_f], [name_f]Ofira[/name_f], [name_f]Oksana[/name_f], [name_f]Olympia[/name_f], [name_f]Olivetta[/name_f], Olivane, [name_f]Omorose[/name_f], [name_f]Opalina[/name_f], [name_f]Ophelie[/name_f], [name_f]Oratia[/name_f], [name_f]Orasia[/name_f], [name_f]Orelda[/name_f], [name_f]Orestina[/name_f], [name_f]Orfia[/name_f], [name_f]Orphea[/name_f], Arabella, Cornelia,

Despite seeing it everywhere on here, Iā€™ve never met anyone with this name or even seen it as a first name, Iā€™ve seen one baby recently be given it as a middle name. Itā€™s on everyoneā€™s lists but I honestly think itā€™s still uncommon. However, since itā€™s on lists it may become popular.

I wouldnā€™t say itā€™s especially popular (though I suppose it depends on where you live). Itā€™s not in the top 100 in the USA, UK or many other countries.

Not too popular but I have heard it floating about a bit

[name_f]Miranda[/name_f]
[name_u]Abilene[/name_u]
[name_f]Octavia[/name_f]

It is moving up the charts. It ranked at 979 in 2015 and in 2019 it ranked at 387 (down from 373 in 2018).

With that said, only 804 baby girls were named [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] in 2019, or 0.04% of the population.

In other words, if you met 10,000 babies born in 2019, statistically 4 would be named [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f].

I wouldnā€™t say [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is too popular currently but I think she is gaining a lot of attraction understandably so could become popular. I think [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is lovely and if you love it would use the name despite have potential to become popular in the next 5-10 years.

Alternatives [name_f]Ophelie[/name_f], [name_f]Olympia[/name_f], [name_f]Odelia[/name_f], [name_f]Odessa[/name_f] & [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] : )

To be honest, Iā€™ve never heard it used for an actual child, so no, I donā€™t think itā€™s too popular.

I donā€™t think [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is too popular yet, although it does have the makings of a popular name. I think youā€™ll be fine for now but I enjoy [name_f]Odette[/name_f], [name_f]Sophronia[/name_f], and [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f].

I just met a little [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] and she was adorable! However she is the only one Iā€™ve ever heard of and it was surprising so I wouldnā€™t say the name is popular, I could definitely see it trending though in the next few years

I think itā€™s a lot more popular on NB than in real life, at least for now. Iā€™ve come across one little [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] personally. Itā€™s definitely on the riseā€“at least according to the chartsā€“but I donā€™t necessarily see it becoming mega-popular. Then again, itā€™s half [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] half [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] soā€¦itā€™s always possible! [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] was the first alternative that came to mind, so Iā€™ll second (or third, or fourth ) that suggestion!

Speaking from the perspective of someone in the US, if that helps. I hear it talked about a lot on here, but not IRL, and I have never met an [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]. For me, it falls into the ā€œrecognizable but not popularā€ camp that is my personal sweet spot for names.

Iā€™ve only met one baby [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], and it was at least ten years ago. I think itā€™s rising in popularity, but I donā€™t think itā€™s ā€œtooā€ popular.

I feel like [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is board popular but not popular in real life. I work with a lot of people and have never actually met one
