Is the name Miley synonymous with Miley Cyrus?

I don’t know about you but whenever I see or hear the name [name_f]Miley[/name_f] I think of [name_f]Miley[/name_f] [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] maybe it’s because the name [name_f]Miley[/name_f] was basically a created name from her nickname smiley I can’t picture anyone else with the name but [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] it would be like someone else being named [name_f]Beyoncé[/name_f] or [name_m]Macaulay[/name_m] or [name_f]Cher[/name_f] or [name_f]Madonna[/name_f] or [name_f]Rihanna[/name_f] heck even [name_f]Roseanne[/name_f] etc. but what do you think?

I’ve known other girls named [name_f]Miley[/name_f], so I think it can work. It’s not quite the level of a [name_f]Beyonce[/name_f] or a [name_f]Cher[/name_f] to me!

I can picture [name_f]Miley[/name_f] on future children quite easily, because it sounds so much like [name_u]Marley[/name_u], [name_f]Marni[/name_f], [name_u]Marie[/name_u], [name_f]Milly[/name_f], [name_f]Molly[/name_f] etc.

I don’t think [name_f]Miley[/name_f] is too associated with the singer, and it would work because of its similarity to [name_f]Millie[/name_f] or [name_f]Mila[/name_f].

I’d say it’s kinda straddling the line. [name_f]Miley[/name_f] [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] would definitely be the first thing I thought of if I heard it, so if somebody didn’t want a strong association with her I think it would be a bad idea to use it, but it also totally feels like a name a regular person could have and I think it’s completely usable so long as you’re prepared for occasional comments about it. I see it as more of an unusual name that happens to be the name of a very famous person rather than being completely synonymous with her.

I feel like because there isn’t another super popular association with [name_f]Miley[/name_f], it is hard not to think of her

I think it is very tied with [name_f]Miley[/name_f] [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m], but could work because it sounds similar to a lot of other names.

It does feel very associated with [name_f]Miley[/name_f] [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m]

for some reason i don’t lol

i think miley cyrus influenced a rise in miley for 2000s babies, so all those mileys i know overweight the cyrus assosciation. she is the most famous bearer of the name, but it fits in with a lot of names in that genre, along with similar sounding names that are popular right now or have been (riley, briley, molly, mia, etc), so it feels super wearable!

I associate the name with her, but I don’t think of it as a one-person name, and I would not assume that a [name_f]Miley[/name_f] was named after [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m].

I think it helps that [name_f]Miley[/name_f] shares sounds with a lot of other familiar names, like [name_u]Riley[/name_u] and [name_u]Marley[/name_u].
