Is this a usable geological name?

Were considering Andes/Andés for our little boy, but we’re also afraid it’s too weird.

I say yes, I actually like it!

I’d say the geological element isn’t too weird, I’d be more concerned about the candy (which is where my mind immediately goes). There’s a strong association with the mountains and mints for me, but it sounds good as a name.

At first glance it looks like a misspelling of Andrés, but once I get past that, I think it’s a fine name.

I thought it was a misspelling of [name_m]Anders[/name_m] at a glance. But, having looked at it properly, I think it is quite nice, actually.

I like it a lot! If he ever doesn’t like it, he could go by [name_u]Andy[/name_u]. I think it’s a really cool pick.

It looks like a variant of [name_m]Andrew[/name_m], so I think you’re fine.

I really like it! I think it’s similar enough to [name_m]Ander[/name_m], [name_m]Anders[/name_m] & [name_u]Andy[/name_u] that it feels familiar even though it’s a bit more obscure. My hesitation would be using the version with the accent if you’re in an English speaking country, as that makes things difficult. But the Andes spelling without the accent would be fine, and if you’re in a non-English speaking place that uses those characters in their language you’ll be ok anyway.

I like it a great deal though i never thought of it before.
