I’ve always found the name quite appealing but it seemed a bit too out-there (and maybe too pretentious) to use. With [name]Lincoln[/name], [name]Reagan[/name], [name]McKinley[/name], [name]Quincy[/name], [name]Carter[/name], [name]Jackson[/name], [name]Madison[/name], [name]Monroe[/name], [name]Tyler[/name], [name]Pierce[/name], [name]Harrison[/name], [name]Taylor[/name], [name]Grant[/name], [name]Kennedy[/name], [name]Truman[/name], etc., being well-loved choices, could [name]Roosevelt[/name] be, too?
I love the meaning of “rose field”–roses mean a lot to my sister so I love the connection–and, while FDR and [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Roosevelt[/name] weren’t my favorite presidents ever, I did a huge report on FDR in elementary school and I really respect what he did to help the United States out of the Great Depression.
I’m not sure I would be gutsy enough to use it, even, but I like the idea of it as a MN, maybe, for something short and sweet, like [name]Jack[/name], [name]Zane[/name], or [name]Seth[/name]…
I love president names as baby names! I personally wouldn’t use [name]Roosevelt[/name] in the FN spot, but it would be sweet in the middle, as you suggested.
I don’t like it in the first spot, but I really respect [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Roosevelt[/name] and FDR and I think it would be cool in the middle. [name]Jack[/name] [name]Roosevelt[/name] is pretty manly.
I think it would be a nice middle name! My grandfather is one of I think 16 and they were all named after presidents or first ladies so I have always had a special love for presidential names. I have actually met a [name]Roosevelt[/name] and know of 2 others but they are all African American, and not that there is anything wrong with that, but it does seem pretty attached to that community. I think it has potential though
I went to college with a guy whose first name is [name]Roosevelt[/name]. Great guy, so I have good associations with it. Lots of people called him “[name]Rose[/name]” or even once in a while “[name]Rosie[/name],” though.
