I have been in love with the name [NAME]Ivan[/NAME] for a while now… But I also have a nephew named [NAME]Evan[/NAME]…
Are these too close?
Is [NAME]Ivan[/NAME] still usable?
Thanks!

[name]How[/name] do you pronounce it? ee-VAHN or IE-vən? Because ee-VAHN is not too close to [name]Evan[/name] in my opinion. [name]How[/name] old is your nephew?
[name]Way[/name] too close. I always think of [name]Ivan[/name] [name]Drago[/name] from [name]Rocky[/name]. Not a pleasant connection for me.
[name]Ivan[/name] would be like eye-ven. Too close, yeah? My nephew is 6.
I think [name]Ivan[/name] and [name]Evan[/name] are too close for cousins.
I think they’re too close but it could be usable.
Six years old, you say. They would be quite close in age. [name]Ivan[/name] as a middle name, perhaps then?
I like the name [name]Ivan[/name] too, its usable despite [name]Evan[/name] being his cousin. Myself and my cousin share the same name, just different spelling.
I think they are a little too similar. Have you thought of using [name]Ivar[/name] instead?
Yeah, I think if it were me, I’d probably think the names were a bit too similar to each other for cousins.
[name]How[/name] close are you with the cousin. [name]Love[/name] the same, think it is still usable.
I think its ok for cousins, i have cousins [name]Nicole[/name] & [name]Nicolette[/name] and we have no problems!
I think this is a situation where it depends on your family-- how close you are, whether [name]Evan[/name]'s parents care or feel flattered, etc. What about using [name]Ivo[/name] instead? I think this is close to [name]Ivan[/name], but far enough away from [name]Evan[/name] that it could work well.
I think [name]Ivan[/name] and [name]Evan[/name] are fine for cousins. I however would ask your Sis or [name]SIL[/name] how they would feel about you using [name]Ivan[/name].
They might hate it so much that using it as a middle could be wiser but they might think it’s fun and be your greatest support.
The boys might even get a kick out of having names that are so similar.
Honestly, probably too close.
I’m sorry, [name]Ivan[/name] and [name]Evan[/name] are a little too close.
I don’t think there’s such a thing as “too close for cousins,” but [name]Ivan[/name] is definitely usable.
Thanks all for your input!
