Is this usable?

Is the name [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] usable? It’s an old family name that I just love, but how usable is it in 2017?

I love it! I think its a great name, though i know that some people are bothered by the Disney association. I think its usable, though not suited any type of girl imo.

I think it’s usable, but definitely prone to teasing by classmates who have seen The [name_m]Little[/name_m] Mermaid. They’ll grow out of the teasing, but it still might hurt.

Good to hear it’s usable for the most part. We kind of make it a point to not watch television/movies and we homeschool our first born, so the likelihood of having any major issues with a Disney connection is quite small.

I think [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] is a lovely name, but as previously stated, it’s very much connected to Disney (and also [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]'s twin sister on Friends). I love the idea of not exposing your children to too much technology and really hope I can do that with my own children! Good luck

I’m glad you asked this question, it’s something I’ve wondered to. I love the name [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] but I’ve so often got the impression that its maybe not a good idea…

I think it is. There’s definitely a strong [name_m]Little[/name_m] Mermaid connection, but I’ve seen kids named after [name_f]Star[/name_f] Wars villains so I’m guessing people aren’t too hung up about that kind of stuff these days.

Also, if that’s the connection people make I’m sure it will change after knowing an actual person named [name_f]Ursula[/name_f]. There’s an adorable, smart young actress who plays one of [name_m]Louis[/name_m] CK’s daughters on his TV show named [name_f]Ursula[/name_f] [name_u]Parker[/name_u] and she completely changed my view of the name.

It’s not my favourite - not because of the little mermaid, but just not my taste. I think anything is usable if you make it so. It was in a Disney movie over twenty-five years ago, it’s time to be used!!
