It sounds very witty to me. I love [name_u]True[/name_u] though. It would make a great name on it’s own. I can’t say the same for Trooper.
I think it’s useable. It reminds me of [name_m]Gunner[/name_m], [name_u]Hunter[/name_u], [name_m]Ryder[/name_m], etc…
Not completely crazy but i don’t like the soldier associations-that might just be me though
I don’t love it. I just wouldn’t like it if my name was strongly associated with something as awful as war.
That said, I think it’s usable.
If you like nn [name_u]True[/name_u], what about [name_m]Truett[/name_m]?
It’s certainly usable, not my style though — it reminds me of [name_m]Cooper[/name_m], [name_u]Hunter[/name_u], [name_u]Parker[/name_u], Tracker et al.
My first thought was the phrase: “He’s/She’s a trooper!” — meaning someone who’s coping/plodding on through a challenging time. Not sure if that’s good or bad.
[name_u]True[/name_u] is cute. I’ve always quite fancied [name_u]Truly[/name_u] for a girl, which might be on the quirky side of your style?
I’m not a fan, but I find it’s similar to [name_m]Cooper[/name_m].
If you’re looking for names for nickname [name_u]True[/name_u]; what about names like:
[name_m]Truman[/name_m]
I like it. It sounds like [name_m]Cooper[/name_m], which is getting pretty popular. Also, the first thing I thought of was someone saying that someone else was a trooper, like someone persevering through a tough time.
I could see how it could definitely be usable, but for me it just brings to mind state troopers which doesn’t really have the best connotation.
I really love [name_m]Tru/name_m though. I’d have to go with [name_m]Truman[/name_m] or [name_m]Truett[/name_m] to get there.
Cute nickname, silly given name.
I agree with a pup, immediately made the state trooper connection, but I see you’re not in the US, so maybe that’s not a concern. I personally would prefer [name_m]Truett[/name_m] or [name_m]Truman[/name_m] to Trooper but different strokes for different folks!
Trooper definitely isn’t crazy, it reminds me of [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] or [name_u]Hunter[/name_u]. In a way I think it’s a cute name. I do love [name_u]True[/name_u]. If it were me, I would probably use the first name [name_u]True[/name_u] and call him Trooper as a nickname
Trooper sounds like a nickname to me.
(You could name the kid [name_u]True[/name_u], and use the nickname Trooper )
I definitely agree with @flamingo
I’m normally fairly live-and-let-live with names, but I have to say Trooper is pretty unsettling to me. @jonquils said in another thread recently that names are a gift, and Trooper feels a bit like a gift of war. It’s got a very cute sound, but the associations ruin it for me.
Not a fan at all. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the name [name_u]True[/name_u] though. Trooper just makes me think of war which isn’t good. [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] is a nice alternative though.
While I don’t particularly care for it, I do know a Trooper who is in his mid twenties and never seemed to run into any real issues with his name so I’d definitely say it’s usable.
The name does strike me as odd though because he was part of one of the most unique subsets I’ve ever come across [name_m]IRL[/name_m]: Tr@ce (b), Trooper (b), Remingt0n (g), & T1mber (g).
