Is [name]Zoe[/name] too popular? Well, it all depends on where you live. [name]Zoe[/name] was No# 31 (6,200 girls) in the US in 2010 (stats for 2011 come out in [name]May[/name]), [name]Zoey[/name] was No# 47 (5,164 girls) and [name]Zoie[/name] was No# 578 (504 girls). I would advise you to go to the Social Security website and look up [name]Zoe[/name] for your state. Chances are if you haven’t heard of one in your neck of the woods, you should be ok.
I agree with PP. And I love the name [name]Zoe[/name] with that spelling! My oldest is [name]Zoe[/name] & she’s almost 6yrs old. There’s only one other [name]Zoe[/name] in her primary school (K-2) and that [name]Zoe[/name] is in another grade. I’m in PA, but I know of a [name]Zoey[/name] in SD & a [name]Zoe[/name] (not sure how they are spelling it) in NC somewhere. I doubt [name]Zoe[/name] is gonna as bad as [name]Jennifer[/name] & [name]Jessica[/name] were in the 80’s. There were a ton of them in my grade alone!
Popularity isn’t the same as it was thirty years ago. The top ten names are given to far fewer kids than the top ten names given to kids thirty years ago. So if [name]Zoe[/name] is the only name you love I say use it. I also prefer a less common name though so I understand. I don’t know any girls of any age named [name]Zoe[/name], this spelling or any other spelling. I do see it all over tv but not in real life.
[name]Zoe[/name] is sweet! I personally don’t know any, and I hear quite a lot of names through my job. It is top 100, like @mischa said, but nowhere near as common as [name]Isabella[/name] or [name]Sophia[/name].
I think [name]Zoe[/name] is a great name. What I like about [name]Zoe[/name] is that it is familiar, quirky and simple- I don’t have a preconceived idea about the type of person a [name]Zoe[/name] would be. I have only taught one [name]Zoe[/name]. Her pet nn was [name]Zo[/name]-zo and she was adorable.
Yes, there [name]MAY[/name] be a another [name]Zoe[/name] in her class… maybe. But so what? It’s not like they would be in class forever. Sometimes a little popularity can make you fit in too. I doubt it will ever make #1, but hover a bit lower.

I don’t think [name]Zoe[/name] is too popular, but at the same time I don’t particularly like it.
