I think its pretty but do you think its too popular? If so, any other pretty I names? What do you think of [name]Iliana[/name]? Thanks
Anyone, [name]Isabella[/name]? nn- [name]Bella[/name] or maybe [name]Izzy[/name] lol
I love the name - so very beautiful - but is extremely popular (thanks to Twilight) and everywhere I go there is a baby [name]Isabella[/name] or [name]Isabelle[/name].
I do like the name [name]Iliana[/name] but like it better with 2 n’s - [name]Ilianna[/name].
I agree, [name]Isabella[/name] is gorgeous and where I live, not all that popular, but it seems to be rampant in US and considering the whole Twilight craze it’s set to stay that way. [name]Iliana[/name] is nice, not really my style but I can appreciate it. Some other I names:
[name]Isadora[/name]
[name]Isabeau[/name]
[name]Ianthe[/name]
[name]Isla[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name]
[name]Isolde[/name]
[name]Idra[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Ingrid[/name]
[name]Irene[/name]/[name]Irina[/name]
[name]India[/name]
[name]Ignacia[/name]
[name]Ines[/name]
[name]Imara[/name]
[name]Imani[/name]
[name]Ione[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
Any you like?

[name]Isabella[/name] is gorgeous- there’s a reason it’s #1! I don’t like it enough to use it myself, but I do think it’s very pretty. And as to whether it’s too popular, I think it depends on where you are. It’s very popular in certain areas, but not so much in others- I’d check the SSA website to see its popularity in your state. Popularity is also quite a different thing than it used to be. [name]Isabella[/name] is the #1 name, given to 1.1023% of baby girls in 2009. But in 1990, the most popular name ([name]Jessica[/name]) was given to over double that percentage of girls- 2.2630%. So [name]Jessica[/name] was twice as popular as [name]Isabella[/name], even though both were the #1 name. The farther back you go, the more popular the #1 names were- in 1980, [name]Jennifer[/name] was given to 3.2808% of girls, and in 1950, [name]Linda[/name] was given to 4.5722% of girls. So whether [name]Isabella[/name] is too popular for you is completely up to you.
I agree that [name]Isabella[/name] is a gorgeous name. I’m glad such a lovely name is number one! I personally only know of two little girls who go by [name]Isabella[/name]. I do know quite a few Ellas and Bellas though.
I love the name [name]Isabella[/name] and the nickname [name]Izzy[/name] is cute. So is [name]Belle[/name].
I think if it is your favorite, then you won’t regret using it.
My oldest daughter, who is almost 9, has [name]Isabella[/name] as her middle name. I was surprised to see how popular it has become, but there is a reason for that - it is just so pretty! If [name]Isabella[/name] is your favorite name, I wouldn’t let it’s popularity stop you. Personally, I only know of two little girls named [name]Isabella[/name] - one goes by [name]Izzy[/name] and one goes by [name]Isa[/name]. I have met far more Ellas and Bellas than girls who use the full (and prettier) name [name]Isabella[/name].
I read on Yahoo! yesterday that [name]Isabella[/name] is no longer #1. I think [name]Sophia[/name] took it’s spot. [name]Isabella[/name]'s still like #2 though. I think that Twilight is a fad and the EXTREME popularity of the name [name]Isabella[/name] will be declining. I know people love it for other reasons and that’s why I think it’ll stay in the Top 100.
As usual, I advise that you do what your heart is telling you. If you truly love the name, it won’t matter how popular it is. If you want to use it, I say go for it! It’s definitely a beautiful name.
As for [name]Iliana[/name], I think it’s sweet. Not a preference of mine, however it could be a nice alternative to [name]Isabella[/name].
I read on Yahoo! yesterday that Isabella is no longer #1. I think Sophia took it’s spot.
I read that article as well, but it isn’t reliable.I guess it’s plausible that [name]Sophia[/name] will overtake [name]Isabella[/name] this year, but they also claimed that [name]Aiden[/name] jumped [name]ELEVEN[/name] spots to reach number 1, which is unheard of in the top 10- names don’t usually rise more than two or three spots at a time. They were citing the statistics of 2010- 2010 isn’t even over yet! There are plenty of alternate name popularity lists, but they generally measure only a very small, select portion of the population. The SSA has the true statistics- every single baby born in the United States is recorded and the names are tallied that way. Babycenter, babynames.com, and other various organizations offer popularity lists, but don’t trust them. The SSA list will come out in [name]May[/name], and that’s your best bet for accurate information.
