So, I love the name [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and I know it’s pronounced like [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] with the e at the end being silent. However, personally I think that [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] is much prettier when the e is said, like e-sa-bell-e.
In Finland where I live it is kind of easier to pronounce [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] that way, but it’s still the wrong pronouncation. Would it be acceptable to use it?
If that’s how it would be pronounced where you live, I guess it’d be fine. It’d be quite strange if you were in a [name_u]French[/name_u] or [name_f]English[/name_f] speaking country, though.
Seconding this
Not sure about Finland but it would be odd in an [name_f]English[/name_f] or [name_u]French[/name_u] speaking area.
I agree with the other posters. I think it’s fine, if that’s how it would be pronounced where you live. Plus, I believe in the southern [name_u]French[/name_u] accent the final E would be pronounced.
I think it’s perfectly fine to use the pronouncation of your country. I don’t wouldn’t even call it the wrong pronouncation, just different.
There’s a model called [name_f]Isabeli[/name_f] Fontana, which I assume is pronounced the way you like. Perhaps you could consider this? I think she’s Brazilian, although maybe of Italian descent…
