What do you think of this spelling? I believe it’s the Irish spelling? Which my DH is and I have Scottish blood and my name is spelled the Scottish way so I thought adding in the culture would be perfect.
Also what do you think of the name as a whole?
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]?
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f] is the Scottish spelling (the Irish form I believe is Isibéal). The [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] spelling is my favourite form!
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is very pretty and feminine; I have seen the combo [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] being tossed about quite a bit though, but I still think it gives very elegant imagery.
This may be controversial, but I can’t stand the name [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]. No matter how many times I see it used, I want to pronounce it is-O-bel, even though I know that is it is IS-a-bel. I like the name [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] though.
Yeah, [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] is the Scottish way of spelling it, and I really like it. And I usually only like names spelled one way, but I like both [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabel[/name_f].
I like the spelling and think it looks prettier than [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] on paper, but it would also get misspelled as [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] a lot anyway. That’s not the end of the world, though, I guess.
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f] is Scottish so it seems like it would work perfectly for your heritage. [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is elegant yet not over the top frilly. I like it.
I love the name [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]. I would pronounce it Is-O-bel. AND interestingly enough I do not care for [name_f]Isabel/name_f at all! The O sort of makes the name for me
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f] is amazing, the best version by far. I’m not a fan of the [name_m]WAY[/name_m] overused [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]/[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]'s. [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] is a much prettier and less frilly version that still has a lot of elegance and strength. Spelling will be an issue but I have a name that needs clarification and I just always spell it from the get go, i never wait to be asked which actually saves time and people are usual grateful. In my opinion [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] is a great choice! I say go for it!
I adore [name_f]Isobel[/name_f], the O gives it strength which I love. [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is stunning!
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f] is my favourite, strong, sturdy and bursting with elegance. I do say the o slightly more than with [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] as well, but not particularly notably more.
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is classy and elegant, really timeless and sweet.
[name_f]Isobelle[/name_f] is my favourite way to spell the name. There is a famous author [name_f]Isobelle[/name_f] Carmody with that spelling. The extra letters on the end, make [name_f]Belle[/name_f] an easy nickname, which I prefer to [name_u]Izzy[/name_u].
I too love the O spelling and I pronounce it with an O, so not quite sure what planet the person is on who says it’s pronounced with an A.
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f] is also my favorite spelling. I think the “o” really grounds the name and gives it some strength that [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], and even [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] are missing.
Thank you I’m very pleased because the more I think about it the more I love it.
I’m not sure DH is sold on the spelling but he loves the middle name combos
I love [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]!! [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] is the only spelling of the name that appeals to me. I adore [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] called “[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]”, so I’ll suggest to you [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f]. But [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is really lovely!
