A few weeks before I wejf into labour, my husband and I had narrowed ourselves down to 2 first name picks for our first child, a daughter.
Her due date approached and still we hadnt decided on a name, though by now we were starting to lean in opposite directions.
Three days after her due date i went into labour. She was born on the fourth day via emergency c-section. We were both completely exhausted from the stress of labour and surgery and lack of sleep… and by now neither of us was budging from our own choice.
They finally let us go home from the hospital the following day. Friends and family (mostly family) were starting to make slightly rude comments about our indecision - only adding to the stress of the situation. We decided to try using one name for a day and the other the next and see if we could reach an amicable decision.
Somehow it worked and we finally agreed on her first name! Such an immense sense of relief. It still took several weeks to pick out her middle name but luckily no one made any comments about that.
Needless to say, if we are lucky enough to have a next one we will definitely work as hard as we can to choose ONE name before they arrive. We are not the sort of people who can decide on a name after the baby is born!
