Italian twin names!

Hello! We are expecting twins! I am 15 weeks and we do not know the genders yet but we are over the moon excited! I will update once i find out the genders. This is my first pregnancy. My husband and I are both italian, both of our parents are fully italian! We would love to give our children italian names since we both have italian origin names. Our last name is D’[name_m]Ambrosio[/name_m], thankfully it’s not too complicated. We want names that have meaning too. We like names that sound clever together aka romeo and juliet, or names that have the same meaning, or names that have meanings that go together! Please share your ideas for all twin combos, two boys, two girls, one of each! We are all over the place with name ideas. We want to hear all your name ideas and suggestions! We would also love to hear some middle name ideas.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

Here are my thoughts on your list:

[name_m]Romeo[/name_m]-I don’t about this. It’s kind of interesting, but it’s just so tied to the tragic character that I’d be hesitant to use on a child.

[name_f]Giovanna[/name_f]-I want to like this, but just don’t care for it for some reason.

[name_m]Leonardo[/name_m]-The nn [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is adorable, but I don’t love [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] as much. [name_m]Just[/name_m] don’t personally care for the ‘ard’ sound.

[name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m]-This has a much fresher sound, & you could still do the nn [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. Or [name_m]Louie[/name_m] or [name_m]Enzo[/name_m].

[name_u]Luca[/name_u]-[name_u]Love[/name_u] this. Probably my favorite Italian name. It’s masculine, yet kind, gentle & a little artsy.

[name_f]Allegra[/name_f]-LOL, this reminds me of the pill too unfortunately.

[name_f]Alessandra[/name_f]-This is not my favorite, but I’m not sure why.

[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]-This is a beautiful name, but way over done.

[name_m]Vittorio[/name_m]-Hm. I don’t love this, but it’s okay. I feel like it will just get mixed up as [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].

[name_f]Violetta[/name_f]-This is gorgeous.

I like [name_u]Luca[/name_u] & [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] for twins, but being as [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] is just so darn popular, [name_u]Luca[/name_u] & [name_f]Violetta[/name_f] are my favorites. [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] is also nice.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] and [name_f]Violetta[/name_f] are my favourites!

[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] - I’ve heard that some people think the tragic character makes the name too heavy for a child to wear, but I still really love it. I find it soft and romantic, and the connotations don’t bother me - I love the name [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], and I’m pretty sure she drowned in mythology.

[name_f]Giovanna[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Gianna[/name_f], I think it’s sweet, but [name_f]Giovanna[/name_f] just more harsh and longer? I’m not saying I dislike it, I just prefer [name_f]Gianna[/name_f] for a little girl, [name_f]Giovanna[/name_f] feels like an older name to me.

[name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] - I like this name! I immediately think think of Da [name_m]Vinci[/name_m] and Dicaprio. I love nn [name_m]Leo[/name_m], and [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] is a little outdated - but still handsome!

[name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] - [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] has a great flow and feel to it, and I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the nickname [name_m]Enzo[/name_m]! So adorable!

[name_u]Luca[/name_u] - [name_u]Luca[/name_u] is definitely sweet and soft sounding, but I’ve found it to be fairly common and also similar to the common [name_m]Luke[/name_m].

[name_f]Allegra[/name_f] - [name_f]Allegra[/name_f] doesn’t do a lot for me, something about it sounds a little too harsh. [name_u]Allie[/name_u] would be a cute nickname though.

[name_f]Alessandra[/name_f] - I used to love this name, I think it’s beautiful and elegant. [name_u]Alex[/name_u] is a cute, spunky nickname.

[name_f]Isabella[/name_f] - Honestly, I feel like [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]/[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] has just been done too many times… I know it’s a stunning name, but I personally can’t get past that.

[name_m]Vittorio[/name_m] - This is different! Definitely strong and unique. It isn’t my favourite, but I’d never seen it before, so maybe it will grow on me.

[name_f]Violetta[/name_f] - This is lovely. I love the name [name_f]Violet[/name_f], I find it spunky and cool - and you can still use [name_f]Letty[/name_f]/[name_f]Vi[/name_f] as a nickname. [name_f]Violetta[/name_f] has a more feminine, princessy vibe - which is obviously what you prefer, and I’m all for it!

Hey there! Here are some suggestions. I tend to prefer more streamlined italian names, they seem more modern [name_f]IMO[/name_f].

[name_f]Chiara[/name_f] & [name_u]Nico[/name_u] - both are short and not overly romantic, while still being very italian

[name_f]Clara[/name_f] & [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]

[name_m]Nicolas[/name_m] & [name_m]Teodoro[/name_m]

[name_f]Bianca[/name_f] & [name_f]Chiara[/name_f]

[name_f]Giulia[/name_f] & [name_m]Filippo[/name_m]

[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] & [name_f]Violetta[/name_f]

[name_f]Giulia[/name_f] & [name_f]Chiara[/name_f]

[name_f]Elena[/name_f] & [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]

[name_m]Leo[/name_m] & [name_u]Nico[/name_u]

[name_u]Luca[/name_u] & [name_u]Nico[/name_u]

[name_f]Elisa[/name_f] & [name_f]Giulia[/name_f]

[name_f]Bianca[/name_f] & [name_m]Enzo[/name_m]

[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] & [name_f]Violetta[/name_f]

[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] & [name_f]Marina[/name_f]

[name_f]Marina[/name_f] & [name_m]Filippo[/name_m]

Best of luck!

A few ideas for twin girls:

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Cara[/name_f] & [name_f]Mia[/name_f], for the “cara mia” meaning. They’re a little simpler than a lot of the names on your list, but I wonder if the meaning makes them more appealing for you?

I think [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] and [name_f]Annunziata[/name_f] would be cute, but could possibly read very religious, so I don’t know if that would be right for you.

[name_f]Chiara[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] also go together well, and they mean “bright” and “light,” respectively.

PS I too am sad that the pharmaceutical industry has made gorgeous [name_f]Allegra[/name_f] borderline unusable.
