It's official...John & James are getting a baby sister! Now what to name her

Thank you all so much for all of your thoughtful insights and suggestions! You are all so helpful! We certainly have a lot to think about…I’m sure I’ll have a few more questions for you all!

From your list I voted for [name]Vivian[/name] [name]Rose[/name], a great combo and if you want another classic name suggestion then think about [name]Caroline[/name] nn’s of [name]Carly[/name], [name]Callie[/name], Caz(s), [name]Cara[/name], [name]Caro[/name], [name]Carol[/name].

[name]Grace[/name] is nice, and very common, i really like [name]Gracie[/name]. [name]Elizabeth[/name] is used too often, [name]Violet[/name] is GREAT! and [name]Vivian[/name], but i would go [name]Vivienne[/name].

I just love [name]John[/name], [name]James[/name], and [name]Evangeline[/name]. It’s such a gorgeous sounding set.

I would like to suggest [name]Rose[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. [name]Rose[/name] is very common as a middle name, but surprisingly fresh and classic as a first. Plus, the nn [name]Rosie[/name] is adorable!

my favourites are [name]Violet[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Vivian[/name] [name]Rose[/name] though you mentioned before that you liked [name]Josephine[/name], that would be sweet as a first name but I understand not wanting to box yourself in if you have any more children in the future so how about [name]Josephine[/name] as a middle name, I think it would work well with both [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Vivian[/name] as well as the other choices on your poll

I love [name]Grace[/name] with [name]John[/name] and [name]James[/name]!
[name]Grace[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] or [name]Grace[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name] would be beautiful.

I voted for [name]Evangeline[/name], and here’s why:

I love the name [name]Elizabeth[/name] - it’s my daughter [name]Bianca[/name]'s middle name - BUT [name]John[/name] and [name]James[/name] are such reliable classics, [name]Evangeline[/name] is classic, but with a really awesome edge. See, all the nicknames for [name]Elizabeth[/name] are really tired: [name]Liz[/name], [name]Lizzie[/name], [name]Ellie[/name], [name]Beth[/name], etc (sorry if I’ve offended anyone), but with [name]Evangeline[/name], you have a fresh arsenal of nicknames to choose from: [name]Evie[/name], [name]Angie[/name], [name]Eve[/name], [name]Van[/name]…plenty to choose from. And then the name [name]Evangeline[/name] as a whole name is beautiful. Makes me think of [name]Evangeline[/name] [name]Lily[/name]. Classic, yet edgy. Feminine, yet strong.

And that’s why I voted for [name]Evangeline[/name]

Interestingly enough, my paternal grandmother (her first & middle name = Hannah Jean) named my Dad’s older brother James, and my Dad’s name is John. The story goes that she had always said if she had 2 boys, she would name them James & John (I think this may be at least partly- if not mainly- a Biblical reference as there are siblings named James and John in the Bible). I always thought that was neat.
Personally, I voted for Grace for your family. I have loved the name Elizabeth since I was a child, but it does seem a little long to me compared with your boys names; however, I honestly do think the style is right on with the boys names. The name Grace seems to just nestle right in there so nicely with James & John as they are all one syllable, very classic, and timeless names, in my opinion.
I think Grace Elizabeth would be a lovely choice. I also like Grace Margaret, Grace Magdalen(e), Grace Rosalie, etc…!

I think [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Rose[/name] would be a beautiful, classic name for [name]John[/name] [name]Daniel[/name] and [name]James[/name] [name]Monroe[/name]'s sister. [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Jane[/name], [name]Violet[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Grace[/name] ([name]Grace[/name] [name]Violet[/name], [name]Grace[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name] and [name]Grace[/name] [name]Vivian[/name] are some quick suggestions for mns) would go very well with your classic feel.

[name]Evangeline[/name] [name]Grace[/name] or [name]Violet[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. Classy and a little bit different!

That’s exactly why we chose [name]John[/name] and [name]James[/name]!!! Although I went in a different order than the Bible because I wanted my oldest son to be named after my Dad. If this one was a boy, we already had the name [name]Jude[/name] picked out because the first line in the book of [name]Jude[/name] is something like “a servant of [name]Christ[/name] and a brother of [name]James[/name]”…so perfect. It’s so much more difficult to pick out a name for a girl!!!

My vote was for [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Rose[/name]. [name]Elizabeth[/name] fits so perfectly with classics [name]John[/name] and [name]James[/name]! Since [name]John[/name] and [name]James[/name] are one syllable, I think a longer name is fitting for a girl. She is your first girl. [name]Elizabeth[/name] has sooo many great nn possibilities too! (a lot of them being one syllable) That is why I think [name]Elizabeth[/name] works for your sibset.
My second vote would be for [name]Grace[/name] - IF you want to stick with one syllable names. There’s nothing wrong with that either. Plus [name]Grace[/name] can be called [name]Gracie[/name]. I liked the suggestions of [name]Anne[/name] and [name]Rose[/name] too, and the nicknames [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Rosie[/name], which I think are adorable!
