Ivo?

Hi there! Completely fallen in love with Ivo! It’s so different which I love and I found out that my fiancé’s name (Ewan) means ‘born of the yew tree’ and Ivo means ‘yew wood, archer’ which I think would be such a cute name link between them! I’m nowhere near expecting but I love names! I’d love to hear your opinion on Ivo and some middle names you would use!

Some middle name ideas I have right now:
Ivo Tobias, Ivo Flynn, Ivo Theodore, Ivo Rafferty

Thank you in advance!

I love [name_m]Ivo[/name_m]! It’s very sweet and I’d love to see it being used. The yew tree link sounds absolutely perfect for your family

I’ve never met an [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] but I have met a Finnish Iivo (“ee-voh”) and he was lovely. [name_f]My[/name_f] only problem is the pronunciation since [name_f]English[/name_f] speakers seem to pronounce it “EYE-voh” while continental Europeans say “EE-voh”. It might not be a problem for you, though, depending on where you live.

All your middle names are lovely!

I really like Ivo! I used to know one, I believe from Albania, who pronounced it ee-vo, and that’s definitely the pronunciation I prefer.

I love Ivo Theodore and Ivo Rafferty from your list, I think Ivo works really well with a long, vintage middle! Maybe Ivo Benjamin, Ivo Lawrence, Ivo Leopold, Ivo Maximilian, Ivo Nathaniel, Ivo Timothy, Ivo Franklin, Ivo Harrison?

[name_m]Ivo[/name_m] is totally gorgeous. If I had another boy tomorrow, this would be his name :green_heart: I personally say EYE-vo but I think it’s super handsome in either pronunciation.

I especially love it paired with longer, quirky-classic or whimsical middles. [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] are stunning!

If I had an [name_m]Ivo[/name_m], I’d go with something like [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] [name_m]Corentin[/name_m], [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] [name_m]Emilian[/name_m], [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] [name_u]Florian[/name_u], [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m], [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u], [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] or [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] Somerled. Something long and lyrical to balance out the brevity of [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] while complementing its refined, earthy feel.

I love Ivo as well! And that connection you found between them is adorable :purple_heart: All the more reason to consider it, I think!

I would pair him with a longer middle for balance. I quite like your Ivo Theodore!

Hm, I like it. But I prefer [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] with a nn [name_m]Ivo[/name_m]. [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] means ‘gift from God’, so he could be your little gift. For Middles for [name_m]Ivo[/name_m], I like [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].

I’m not sure if it’s ee-voh or eye-voh? I want to say eye-voh since I’m reminded of [name_m]Ivar[/name_m]. Actually ee-voh almost sounds feminine to me, like [name_f]Eva[/name_f]. Anyway it’s a cool name but confusing! [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] sounds great to me!

Love love Ivo (I pronounce it eye-vo). I like the connection you have with the yew meaning; I’ve also seen the meaning as “everlasting life” which I think is really nice.

I like it with a longer middle name as contrast

Late to the party but I am liking it as well! Very unusual and quirky. Yet easy to spell. I’d pronounce it with the Eye-vo variation.
[name_m]Little[/name_m] known fact- it happens to be the name of a [name_u]Saint[/name_u] from the Middle Ages, St [name_m]Ivo[/name_m] of Kermartin, whose legacy was helping the poor in many ways but especially in legal matters.
