Ivy Ace Mayer?

[name]Hi[/name] Everyone,
[name]Lauren[/name] again.
So my husband came up with [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Ace[/name] [name]Mayer[/name] somehow and he’s totally into it. We have decided on [name]Ivy[/name] but we’re looking for a middle name. We’d been thinking we’d like something that’s one syllable that packs some punch and is sort of off the beaten path (at least for a girl). Other things we were thinking of are:
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Wade[/name] [name]Mayer[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Max[/name] [name]Mayer[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]James[/name] [name]Mayer[/name]

but my husband is fast becoming obsessed with [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Ace[/name] [name]Mayer[/name]. I actually like it–which is sort of a surprise to even to me–what are your opinions?

Another avenue we were exploring was using a middle name with 3 syllables and we were looking at [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Tabitha[/name] [name]Mayer[/name] or [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Mayer[/name]. Still these are a bit girlie for us.

So what do you think?

Personally, I’m not a fan of any of the short masculine names for a middle for [name]Ivy[/name] that you mentioned.

I love [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Mayer[/name], though, so pretty. But if it’s too girly for you, then here are some suggestions that are short, and neither too “feminine” or too “masculine” -

[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Kate[/name] [name]Mayer[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Flynn[/name] [name]Mayer[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Drew[/name] [name]Mayer[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Lee[/name] [name]Mayer[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] [name]Mayer[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Reese[/name] [name]Mayer[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Liv[/name] [name]Mayer[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Bree[/name] [name]Mayer[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Brynn[/name] [name]Mayer[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Greer[/name] [name]Mayer[/name]

I personally would go with a longer, girlier middle name, but if that’s not your style then don’t do it, pick a name you like!

I have to say that out of the choices you have come up with so far, I like [name]Ace[/name] the best! Although [name]Ivy[/name] is traditionally a girl’s name, with the other middle name choices, the whole name sounds distinctly masculine.

I don’t know if you are looking for other options, but here’s some that came to mind:

[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Lane[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Bay[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Shea[/name] (very unisex name right now)
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Lon[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Rain[/name]

If you weren’t looking for other options, I’d say go for [name]Ace[/name]!

I think if you both love it, go for it! I like it, and the weirdo in me things I AM are cool initials. Very existential.

I think it’s really cute and admirable when men are really into names. In my experience, guys don’t really seem to care very often, so it’s so cool when they do.

I forgot my favorite middle name: [name]Ivy[/name] [name]West[/name]!

I have always thought [name]West[/name] would make such a great middle name, but cannot use it with my last name. :frowning: It has such a great sound, it is very uncommon, and it has great connotations in folklore ([name]West[/name] wind, symbolism of the direction [name]West[/name]) and old Hollywood ([name]Mae[/name] [name]West[/name]).

[name]Ivy[/name] [name]West[/name] [name]Mayer[/name]…what do you think?

[name]Hi[/name] Everyone,
thank you so much for your responses! My husband and I liked a lot of them quite a bit–in fact many of your suggestions were names we had considered, like [name]Quinn[/name], [name]Greer[/name], [name]Reese[/name], [name]Brynn[/name], etc, all of which are lovely. But [name]Ace[/name] has just seemed to click. Though it might be a little strange, my husband and I are becoming pretty attached to it. It just seems like the way to go. (Still, I do wonder what some of the older relatives will say when the birth announcement arrives!)

I really appreciate all of you taking the time to come up with ideas. I particularly liked [name]West[/name], and I also think that the IAM initials are cool! Thanks again,

[name]Glad[/name] that you have the first name but really [name]Ace[/name] is a bit out there isn’t it?

[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Kate[/name] packs some punch and so do these options

[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Stella[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Alexa[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Harriet[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Roberta[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Tessa[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Madison[/name] (btw I hate [name]Madison[/name] in fn position)
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Magdalene[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Shiloh[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] have you got a maiden name that would flow well with [name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Mayer[/name] or a family name that would fit too eg [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Kingsley[/name] [name]Mayer[/name]?

[name]Ace[/name] is better than [name]Wade[/name] or [name]James[/name] (for a girl or boy)!

I actually really like [name]Ivy[/name] [name]James[/name] [name]Mayer[/name] or [name]Ivy[/name] [name]West[/name] [name]Mayer[/name]

im not a fan of ivy ace. I dont like the name [name]Ace[/name] for a girl or boy and [name]Ivy[/name] needs a longer mn. BUT if both you and DH like it go for it.

i actually really like [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Max[/name] [name]Mayer[/name], fwiw!

[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Ace[/name] sounds like the name of a comic book character to me, but I do like it better than some of your other choices ([name]Max[/name], [name]James[/name], etc). Not my style, but I don’t see anything obviously veto-able about it.

I’m not into [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Ace[/name] [name]Mayer[/name], but I happen to love [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Mayer[/name].
Someone before suggested [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] [name]Mayer[/name] which I also love.

Have you considered two middle names? I kinda like [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Ace[/name] [name]Mayer[/name].

Ok I guess I am confussed I thought you where asking about boy names but you keep getting names for a girl. If you are looking for a boys name I really like [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Ace[/name]. I actually know one little boy and a teen named [name]Ivy[/name] and think it is a cool untraditonal boy name. If you are talking girl not a big fan. I don’t like [name]Ivy[/name] as a girl name at all [name]Ace[/name] might be kinda cool, but in the end it’s your baby and a name you and DH are going to be saying 50 million times so make sure it makes you happy in the end that really all that matters
