I had cut [name_u]Jace[/name_u] out of the running due to it’s increasing popularity, but it is my hubby’s favorite and I do like how it sounds with our last name.
[name_u]Corbin[/name_u] is the other contender (nn [name_u]Cory[/name_u]). It isn’t very popular right not, but since it is a C name that ends with -in, I can see it blending into that category of high frequency names.
What are your thoughts on the two? [name_m]How[/name_m] much more popular do you think [name_u]Jace[/name_u] will get after the Duck Dynasty fall-out?
We really loved [name_m]Gavin[/name_m], but it is SUPER popular right now and I hear it all the time so we said no to that one.
[name_u]Jace[/name_u] is popular in Romance novels, it has been for years. [name_u]Corbin[/name_u] as far as I know is not very popular. Only one I have heard of is the actor [name_u]Corbin[/name_u] Bernsen. I do have to say I am not a fan of nicknames. I say if you like [name_u]Cory[/name_u] then use [name_u]Cory[/name_u]. [name_u]Corey[/name_u] is a great boy name. I went to school with a [name_u]Corey[/name_u].
I’m not a huge fan of either one. [name_u]Corbin[/name_u] is going to get “lost” in a sea of his peers with similar names, and I don’t think [name_u]Jace[/name_u] has enough substance to work by itself. (Not to mention the ridiculous number of “jay” names that are popular right now.) I would just use [name_u]Cory[/name_u] if you plan to call him that anyway. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] or [name_u]Cortland[/name_u]? Maybe even [name_u]Casey[/name_u], [name_u]Asa[/name_u], or [name_u]Trace[/name_u]?
I actually really like both names. [name_u]Jace[/name_u] is on my list as well if we end up having a son but I have the same popularity worries that you do. I agree with the previous poster that suggested [name_u]Corbin[/name_u] [name_u]Jace[/name_u] but if you don’t like that combo then my vote is [name_u]Corbin[/name_u]. Good luck!
I like [name_u]Jace[/name_u] a lot more than I like [name_u]Corbin[/name_u]. [name_u]Jace[/name_u] sounds cooler, fresher, and a lot more modern. Honestly, popularity shouldn’t factor into the name choice if you and your husband legitimately love it. Go for what you love and you won’t regret it.
I really like [name_u]Corbin[/name_u] without any nicknames. It does blend in with the popular -in names but still stands out, too. I don’t know anything about the Duck Dynasty fall out.
I have never watched Duck Dynasty in my life so I didnt even know that the name [name_u]Jace[/name_u] was associated with that. Instead of I thought of The Mortal Instruments book series.
Personally, I like [name_u]Corbin[/name_u] better than [name_u]Jace[/name_u]. [name_u]Jace[/name_u] sounds a little bit nick-namey and also I think will end up sounding more dated later on.
