When I was let’s say 14-15 I was so obsessed with the name [name_f]Jacobette[/name_f] that I wanted to name a future daughter it. What do you think of it? I love it, it gives off 1800d vibes. What nicknames would you use for it? Obviously not [name_m]Jake[/name_m], but [name_f]Jakie[/name_f] or [name_f]Betty[/name_f] could work.

I kind of love it, it’s clunky, but has a southern charm to it

I would use [name_m]Jett[/name_m] as a nickname for it

It reminds me of Jacobite but I’m a history nerd so not sure everyone would see that.

I’d probably use [name_f]Jackie[/name_f], [name_f]Betty[/name_f], or [name_f]Ettie[/name_f] as a nickname. [name_f]Coco[/name_f] could also work. And honestly I don’t hate [name_m]Jake[/name_m] for a girl - it’s kind of fun and cool.

I prefer [name_f]Jacoba[/name_f], like actress [name_f]Cobie[/name_f] Smulders, but then you don’t get Betty/Ettie.

I’ve come across [name_m]Jettie[/name_m] doing genealogy research. My personal choice would be [name_f]Betty[/name_f] or [name_f]Betsy[/name_f].

I want to love it, but it feels like an obvious feminization for me, which I’ve never really loved—I prefer ones that I don’t automatically go “oh Jacob” when I see it? Something like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] or [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. It does have some lovely nn options, though! I think [name_f]Coco[/name_f] would be my favorite, but [name_f]Etta[/name_f] is also lovely, or [name_f]Betsy[/name_f]! [name_m]Jacie[/name_m] or [name_f]Jackie[/name_f], too, though I don’t love [name_f]Jackie[/name_f] personally.

I think it has a kind of fun sound and would totallystand out but I must admit I find it a teeny bit awkward.

Nicknames I’d consider: [name_f]Coco[/name_f], [name_f]Jette[/name_f], [name_f]Betsy[/name_f]

It feels a bit clunky to me but I think it could work with the right nickname - maybe [name_f]Etta[/name], [name_f]Betsy[/name], [name_f]Jamie [/name]or [name_f]Jett[/name]? It’s not really my style but I am a sucker for nicknamable names :man_shrugging:
