Jaguar

What do you think of [name]Jaguar[/name] for a girl nn Jag or Jaggy?

If it’s for a character in a book, sure. If for a child, no. I love the idea in theory, but a girl shouldn’t have to grow up with the name of a ferocious cat in a world where a guy might take it as a challenge to tame her.

Not a fan!!! I dont think it is a nice sounding word, and seems more masculine

I don’t like it. It seems like a very harsh and aggressive name that would be better suited on a boy. If I saw the name [name]Jaguar[/name] written down I would assume it was a boy and evrn then it seems a fierce.

Nope. Makes me think of the flesh-tearing animal, followed by the mach sports car.

Not at all. Maybe a nickname. [name]Do[/name] you know the movie [name]Aimee[/name] and [name]Jaguar[/name]? Great person, but a tragic namesake (and it was a nickname for her).

Sounds too harsh to be anyone’s given name. What about [name]Lynx[/name], instead?

This.

[name]Jaguar[/name], especially with the nickname Jag, is a nickname nightmare waiting to happen. Jag, hag, bag, rag, there’s a f-one… I realize names will be made fun of regardless but why make it easy for people to tease, especially when there’s an obvious not-so-nice nickname (or two) in there.

I have to be honest so please dont take offense but [name]Jaguar[/name] sounds so harsh for a little girl! [name]Jagger[/name] however would be cute on a boy though  I’m from NSW too and just don’t think it’s all that wearable in our town. HTH

This is a joke, right? I don’t have words.

Not feeling [name]Jaguar[/name] as a name–for a girl or a boy. Though I usually dig animal names, this one reminds me too much of the car (which itself is potentially fraught with symbolic significance). Also, it doesn’t roll off the tongue very well (i.e. the “harshness” referred to above.)
