We’ve been struggling to find a boy name… what are your thoughts on the name [name_u]James[/name_u] with the intention of calling him [name_u]Jamie[/name_u] full time? Our last name ends in the same sound as [name_u]Jamie[/name_u] so that’s why I’m heasetant to use that alone. I was also thinking about [name_m]Johnny[/name_m], but I know it has the same ending sound issue.
I’m a firm believer in using the name you’re gonna call the child but I also think it depends how many syllables your surname has and if it repeats any other sounds in [name_u]Jamie[/name_u]/Johnny
Off the top of my head…[name_u]Jamie[/name_u] [name_m]Morrissey[/name_m] sounds nice. [name_u]Jamie[/name_u] [name_u]Ramsey[/name_u] is okay. [name_u]Jamie[/name_u] [name_u]Laramie[/name_u] not the best. [name_u]Jamie[/name_u] [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] doesn’t work for me. [name_f]Nor[/name_f] does [name_u]Jamie[/name_u] [name_u]Clancy[/name_u].
You can do a similar evaluation for [name_m]Johnny[/name_m].
I think if the consonant before the “eee” sound is different, it can work.
Agree that if you don’t like the flow but will exclusively call him [name_u]Jamie[/name_u], it won’t solve your problem
Our last name rhymes with Lozlee 2 syllables. The other name we have had o. The list for a while is [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. I’ve just know a few different people who are planning or just used [name_m]Jack[/name_m].
Jamie Lozlee sounds good to me!
I think it works! ([name_f]May[/name_f] be slightly biased in that my sisters and I all have similar first and last name ending situations, I’m realizing belatedly)
I know [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is popular, but it’s definitely popular for good reason. And it also works nicely with your surname
I have 3 cousins named [name_m]Jack[/name_m] actually (only one truly [name_m]Jack[/name_m]- the others are really [name_m]John[/name_m] and [name_u]Jackson[/name_u]), all very different people and ages, but it suits them all. It’s really an every man’s name in the best way
Jamie is a cute nickname option for [name_u]James[/name_u].
May I suggest [name_u]Jay[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_u]James[/name_u]. If you feel [name_u]Jamie[/name_u] is too much due to it rhyming [name_u]Jay[/name_u] might work better.
James nn [name_u]Jamie[/name_u] seems like a good solution
I have a friend whose name is just like this! [name_u]James[/name_u] nn [name_u]Jamie[/name_u] with a last name ending in y and [name_m]Ive[/name_m] never thought his name was bad or silly or anything like that. If your last name rhymes like [name_u]Jamie[/name_u] [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] or something maybe its too much but honestly thats not soo bad either.
I love [name_u]James[/name_u] and the nicknames [name_u]Jamie[/name_u] or [name_m]Jamesie[/name_m]
I feel very meh about [name_u]James[/name_u] but I do like [name_u]Jamie[/name_u] and think it sounds fine with your surname
