James or Sam?
James is a family name (grandpa’s middle name).
Sam is not a family name - we just like the sound of it! (Not Samuel, just Sam.)
Thinking Alvin for a middle name (also a family name - other grandpa’s middle name).
Baby will have a big brother named Jack, so we want to make sure the names go well together too!
I prefer [name_u]James[/name_u] out of the 2, but paired with big brother [name_u]Jack[/name_u] then I vote [name_u]Sam[/name_u] to avoid repeating initials.

either one works, but my vote goes to james alvin because sam seems slightly incomplete. this may not be your style but simon alvin “sam” ??
I really like [name_u]Sam[/name_u]! Sweet and cheerful but also versatile
