I’m not a fan of [name_u]Jameson[/name_u], but please use it on a boy. If you want the girl to have a “[name_u]James[/name_u]” name, you can use a feminine form ([name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f]), or use another J name instead.
Unfortunately, it’s still very much a more subtle version of the same thing, and it’s why names crossing the gender divide is still one way: boys->girls. The worst thing for a boy to be is a girl, but girls with boys’ names or nicknames are quite another thing.
I know one girl named [name_u]Jameson[/name_u], and she always got the “[name_f]Jenna[/name_f] [name_u]Jameson[/name_u]” reference but nothing alcohol related.
I like [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] for a boy. It could work for a girl but I personally would give it a more feminine spelling paired with a girly middle name.
[name_u]Jameson[/name_u] is so handsome and I love that it honors family. As for the drinking concern - I don’t drink and would never have known [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] was associated with Whiskey so I’m not sure how familiar people that drink would be with the association. As for using on a girl, absolutely not! [name_u]Jamie[/name_u] could work for a girl, but I’m not sure if it’s too close to [name_u]James[/name_u] for your liking. Another suggestion could be [name_f]Jemma[/name_f] ([name_m]Jim[/name_m] is often a nickname for [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_f]Jemma[/name_f] could be used as a a feminization of [name_m]Jim[/name_m])
I like the name [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] for a boy. I am a huge fan of girls with boy names though, I think it is unique and cute. However, I do not like [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] as a girl’s first name. I think it would make an adorable middle name for a little girl!
[name_u]Jameson[/name_u] sounds and looks masculine to me. I don’t love it, probably because [name_u]James[/name_u] seems endlessly attractive and [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] seems as a second option. However, I don’t hate it either.
