What are everyone’s thoughts on the name [name]Jameson[/name]? It’s definitely my favorite boys name at the moment. It sounds masculine and distinguished. I also like that it isn’t majorly popular, but that most people have probably heard of it. My only concern is that I really don’t like [name]Jamie[/name] as a nn. [name]Do[/name] you think that would be a problem? What are your thoughts on the name in general?
I think it’s okay, but the only [name]Jameson[/name] I’ve known is a girl who doesn’t go by nicknames, and she’s really girly girl so the name seems a lot softer to me than it does to you.
I wouldn’t use [name]Jamie[/name] as a nickname either, but [name]Jim[/name], [name]Jimmy[/name], [name]James[/name], and [name]Sonny[/name] (fave) could all work.
[name]James[/name] works for a nickname - very classic
I always find it so funny when girls end up with names like this (meaning, literally, “son of [name]James[/name]”) - clearly taken out of naming- convention context
[name]Do[/name] you like the nickname [name]James[/name]? I think that might be more likely than Jamie.
Other nickname ideas: Jay, Jem
I love [name]Jameson[/name]! I do like the nn [name]Jamie[/name], but I agree with a pp–I’ve heard/met so many more girls with the name [name]Jameson[/name]/[name]Jamison[/name] than boys… I see it as a very masculine name, but just a heads up, not everyone does. I thought [name]Jameson[/name] would be one of the boys’ “son” names that would be safe from being used on girls, but I guess not.
I wouldn’t let that keep you from using it, though–if we all gave up the boys’ names we loved there wouldn’t be any left!
im not even a drinker, but all i think of is the whiskey!
[name]Jameson[/name] is handsome and far too masculine for a girl. A name composed of “[name]James[/name]” and “son” for a girl? Really?
I don’t think it needs a nickname.
