I am currently expecting identical twin girls, due in [name_u]March[/name_u] but they’ll most likely be born in [name_f]February[/name_f] because twins are almost always born early.
My husband is fully Japanese and I am half Japanese. We are currently living in Japan, although he lived in the US for most of his life and I’ve lived in Australia. Since we’re planning to raise them in Japan and they will be mostly of Japanese descent, we want to give them Japanese names. We’ve narrowed it down to five pairs, but we can’t pick between them.
We’re also open to different combinations of the names on this list, or adding a new name if it sounds nice with one of the ones we already like. Our surname is Hiroyama, and in Japan family names are said first, so it would be Hiroyama ____.
He has a rather large family and everyone’s input is so different that it’s kind of unhelpful, and my parents don’t have opinions because they’re just happy to have grandkids. We’ve asked friends for advice as well, but the polls are always so even that it’s useless.
From your pairings I like Emiru and Satomi or [name_f]Yoshie[/name_f] and Shizuka, but if I am allowed to mix them up, my favourite pair is Emiru and Shizuka. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] list btw!
What beautiful meanings Japanese names have! My favorite pair would be Emiru + Shizuka, both for their meanings separately and together, plus I think both names sound beautiful. And as an American person not familiar at all with Japanese, I think the nns [name_f]Emmi[/name_f] and suki/Mimi + Zuzu are both well-known here and cute.
My second favorite pairing is Mikoto + Satomi, for their individual meanings plus combined meanings as well. They both have the Beaty aspect…plus intellect/word, which make them seem like very similar sentiments for both names…cool for twins! I like the nns [name_f]Miki[/name_f] and [name_u]Sami[/name_u] and how they’re both kind of spunky/masculine while both full names are so very pretty. Good luck and congratulations on your twins!
