I like [name_m]Jared[/name_m], spelled this way, and much prefer it to [name_m]Luke[/name_m], but I feel neither goes perfectly with [name_m]Harvey[/name_m]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any other options? Maybe something more vintage, say, [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m], [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], [name_m]George[/name_m]?

I can’t find anything I like that goes really well with [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] that my husband likes too.
[name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to throw in some suggestions.

I don’t think [name_m]Jared[/name_m] goes with [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] at all. [name_m]Luke[/name_m] works much better.

I think both are fine names, but don’t remotely fit with [name_m]Harvey[/name_m]. [name_m]How[/name_m] about:

[name_m]Walter[/name_m]
[name_m]Gilbert[/name_m]
[name_u]Howard[/name_u]
[name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Edward[/name_m]
[name_u]Stanley[/name_u]
[name_m]Milo[/name_m]
[name_m]Ernest[/name_m]
[name_m]Conrad[/name_m]
[name_m]Solomon[/name_m]
[name_m]Saul[/name_m]
[name_m]Cy[/name_m]
[name_m]Julian[/name_m]
[name_m]Benton[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Frederick[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u]

I like [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] better with [name_m]Harvey[/name_m]. and you can still call him [name_m]Luke[/name_m] or [name_m]Luc[/name_m].

I also voted for [name_m]Jared[/name_m].

I’d suggest [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], but I don’t really like it with your surname :frowning:

[name_m]Just[/name_m] throwing some out there:
[name_u]Dexter[/name_u]
[name_m]Alistair[/name_m]
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]/[name_m]Simeon[/name_m]
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m]
[name_m]Phineas[/name_m]
[name_m]Basil[/name_m]
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m]
[name_m]George[/name_m]

I voted for [name_m]Jared[/name_m] but really like both names. Sure, [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] is a little more vintage than [name_m]Jared[/name_m] or [name_m]Luke[/name_m], but why do sibling names have to be exactly the same style? They don’t. I don’t think people in the real world will say or think, “Wow, her sons’ names are different styles. Shame on her.” I think both names are great and would go perfectly fine with [name_m]Harvey[/name_m].

I prefer [name_m]Luke[/name_m] to [name_m]Jared[/name_m]. It’s strong, masculine and sounds like a friendly guy. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though both are Biblical names, I find [name_m]Jared[/name_m] kind of “dated” to the 70’s and 80’s whereas [name_m]Luke[/name_m] is a timeless name for any era. However, both names sound kind of harsh and abrupt with your surname [name_u]Curtis[/name_u]. Here are some “softer sounding” suggestions for [name_m]Harvey[/name_m]'s brother.

[name_m]Leo[/name_m]
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m]
[name_u]Seth[/name_u]
[name_m]Aaron[/name_m]
[name_m]Milo[/name_m]
[name_m]Ivan[/name_m]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]
[name_m]Eli[/name_m]
[name_m]Joel[/name_m]
[name_m]Ethan[/name_m]
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]
[name_m]Josiah[/name_m]
[name_m]Adam[/name_m]

I vote [name_m]Luke[/name_m].
[name_m]Jared[/name_m] is preferred spelling.

My husband has always had an aversion with the ck sound with our surname and [name_m]Ive[/name_m] been pushing for [name_m]Luke[/name_m] for the absence of anything else we can agree on. The more I think of [name_m]Jared[/name_m] the less I want it. These are names in like that he doesn’t so can give some ideas…
[name_u]Taylor[/name_u]
[name_m]Tanner[/name_m]
[name_u]Leighton[/name_u]
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u]
[name_u]Rafe[/name_u]
[name_m]Mitchell[/name_m]
[name_m]Daniel[/name_m]
Brynner
[name_u]River[/name_u]

I prefer [name_m]Luke[/name_m]

I like [name_m]Luke[/name_m] much better … When I think [name_m]Jared[/name_m] all I can think of is the subway guy …

When we were pregnant with harvey I really wanted [name_m]Harrison[/name_m]. But my husband has another son called larry and didn’t want harry & larry… My husband as a child had a toy rabbit called harvey and so harvey was the closest I could get to [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] and it had a nice meaning to him as well.
I really don’t care that much that harvey is old fashioned and the others I like aren’t… I find myself more interested in names that were nearly popular in my generation… But it’s hard because we know people with the same names…
I really don’t like the old school stuff like george, [name_m]Charles[/name_m], theo etc…
If this baby was a girl it would’ve been called alexis [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] which is a name I’ve wanted since I was like 14 years old, so a long time. Needless to say I was pretty bummed when I saw that both these names are up in the charts… I don’t like Alex for a boy though.
I don’t like overly popular names.
I don’t know what I like about those names,. I just do.
[name_m]Daniel[/name_m] is probably my favourite, but I had a boyfriend called daniel so hubby ruled that out quick smart lol… Then would be taylor… but as with most of my names I like my husband knows someone with a kid called that so its out of the question…
[name_m]Tanner[/name_m] is the name one of my best friends since I was 5 years old.
[name_u]Leighton[/name_u] - loved the name since I was young cos of [name_m]Lleyton[/name_m] [name_m]Hewitt[/name_m].
[name_u]Rafe[/name_u] - loved it since I watched pearl harbour lol
Brynner - came up with this one after watching some classic movies with yul Brynner in it

He likes [name_m]Jackson[/name_m], [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_m]Jared[/name_m].
I’m really stuck on this one… I’ve bought a book of boys names and cannot get excited about 1 name! I could easily name 10 girls lol.

The only requirement I have is that I’d like it to have a nickname or be shortened. Like harvey gets harv or harvs… And I absolutely hate ed, Eddie or ted or teddy names.

Ooooo, this is difficult!

So, your criteria: popular - but not too popular. unusual, but familiar and recognisable. Needs good nicknaming possibilities. Shouldn’t rhyme with [name_m]Larry[/name_m] (or presumably [name_m]Harvey[/name_m]). No hard c/k sounds. And finally, goes with surname!

Have to say, I do like [name_m]Tanner[/name_m] and [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] with [name_m]Harvey[/name_m], tho I marginally prefer [name_m]Tanner[/name_m]!

Anyway, here are a few suggestions…

I tried to go for names which sounded fairly popular and current, but mostly stayed outside of the top 100. Also I think they’re all pretty good nickname wise, and flow well with [name_m]Harvey[/name_m]. For what it matters, my personal fave combo is [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] and [name_u]Hayden[/name_u]! Anyway, good luck name searching, hope this helped!

I prefer [name_m]Luke[/name_m] with [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] but not really a bit fan of either name.

I think [name_m]Luke[/name_m] is a beautiful timeless name and much prefer it to [name_m]Jared[/name_m]. Plus it’s rarely spelled any other way so that makes life easier.

I’m just going to throw out some names:

[name_m]Archer[/name_m]
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m]
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m]
[name_u]Blake[/name_u]
[name_m]Holden[/name_m]
[name_m]Weston[/name_m]
[name_m]Brooks[/name_m]

[name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_m]Calvin[/name_m]
[name_m]Declan[/name_m]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m]
[name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]
[name_m]Milo[/name_m]

[name_m]Brody[/name_m]
[name_m]Axel[/name_m]
[name_u]Bradley[/name_u]
[name_u]Cameron[/name_u]
[name_m]Tucker[/name_m]
[name_m]Thatcher[/name_m]
[name_m]Samuel[/name_m]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m]
[name_u]Arlo[/name_u]
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]
[name_m]Garrett[/name_m]
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m]

I prefer [name_m]Jared[/name_m] over [name_m]Luke[/name_m] with [name_m]Harvey[/name_m], but I think [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] and [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] would be an overall better sibset

I voted for [name_m]Luke[/name_m] before I saw your surname… [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_u]Curtis[/name_u] doesn’t work at all because the names run into each other.

But I don’t really like [name_m]Jared[/name_m] either.

Suggestions:

[name_m]Damian[/name_m]
[name_m]Damon[/name_m]
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
[name_m]Gregory[/name_m]
[name_m]Robinson[/name_m]

What about [name_u]Jude[/name_u] as a compromise between [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_m]Jared[/name_m]?
