Ooh, [name_m]Jarvis[/name_m] is different! I feel like [name_m]Jarvis[/name_m] will stand out (for all the right reasons!) in a class of Noahs, Micahs, Judahs, [name_m]Jonahs[/name_m], Elijahs and the like.

Biblicals boys’ names in -ah like [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] are very handsome, but they’re also having a big moment right now so I’d definitely go with the much more surprising [name_m]Jarvis[/name_m].

I also think that [name_m]Jarvis[/name_m] works much better than [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] with a surname also starting with the [name_u]Jo[/name_u]- sound.

I only like combos with one middle. Two is pretentious and tacky

Umm okay… how is it tacky?

I prefer [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] out of the two.

Misslis’s comment is what seems tacky…and rude. Her opinion could have been made in a better manner. Whether you pick one or two middle names is a personal thing. My son has one middle name, future children would have two. Honoring loved ones and honoring certain loved ones together is very important to me now. I personally am not fond of more than two middle names. It starts sounding like a list of names, instead of a single name, to me.

I love [name_m]Jarvis[/name_m], glad to see another fan! It’s not too out-there but also very fresh and offbeat.
I think two middle names are just fine.

[name_m]Jarvis[/name_m] is a new love of mine.

I like the idea of two middle names (I wish I had of done this with my own children).

Definitely [name_m]Jarvis[/name_m]. My cousin is called [name_m]Jarvis[/name_m] and he is absolutely adorable. I’m not a fan of [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] because it has the nickname [name_m]Jose[/name_m], which I can only see on a girl as a nickname for [name_f]Josephine[/name_f].

We named our son [name_m]Jarvis[/name_m] [name_m]Bron[/name_m] and he is a delight and so original. He never has a duplicate in class either.

I’m absolutely biased because my husband’s name is [name_m]Josiah[/name_m]. He’s always received positive responses to his name. I plan to use just one middle name for our future child or children, but I do think it’s such a personal choice. His middle name is [name_m]Daniel[/name_m], if that’s helpful? Best wishes!

A family member is named [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] (jow-SYE-ah) and we call him [name_m]Joe[/name_m]. [name_m]Jose[/name_m] has never occurred to us.

I slightly prefer [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] to [name_m]Jarvis[/name_m], but objectively speaking, there is nothing wrong with either choice.

Some people have mentioned that [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] [name_u]Jo[/name_u]— could be a bit of a tongue twister, but I want to add that the sound of a name like Johns is different from that of [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]. If you have the short O sound like in Johns, then [name_m]Jarvis[/name_m] would actually have more in common with it phonetically. [name_m]Just[/name_m] something to think about!

Also, using two middle names is fine. The person who said it’s tacky appears to live in [name_u]America[/name_u], where we almost never meet people with more than one middle name. Before joining nameberry, I actually did not know that it was a common practice to use two middle names in some countries! I figure as long as they aren’t ten syllables each, you’re fine.
