Which name do you prefer, and why?
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. There are a few names where I like the “lee” sound but [name_m]Leo[/name_m] isn’t one of them.
I prefer [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] as [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is too nickname-y for my liking. I love [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] though.
I prefer [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] because I like names with nicknames and because it is less popular
I like both but slightly prefer [name_m]Leo[/name_m].
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] feels a bit more timeless to me.
I like both but [name_m]Leo[/name_m] feels a little more timeless, perhaps slightly more serious.
I love [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] because of the mental images of [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] National [name_m]Park[/name_m].
I find [name_m]Leo[/name_m] a bit common and boring in comparison.
So difficult - I adore both!
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] would have been my answer for a long time - it’s bouncy, lively and effortlessly cool. But I’ve really come round to [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] lately - it’s a very handsome, distinguished name that also manages to be adorable for a little boy! I’d say it’s a little bit more interesting too, by virtue of being that bit more unusual (for now!)
[name_m]Leo[/name_m]? I like [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] a lot, but prefer him as a middle. In general, I slightly prefer [name_m]Casper[/name_m]/[name_m]Caspar[/name_m] or even [name_m]Gaspard[/name_m] (or [name_m]Gaspar[/name_m]?). I love the whole family of names, but like [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] slightly less than the others.
I love [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. Soft yet masculine and defined. For some reason I can’t get the burglar from Disney’s 101 Dalmations out of my head. His name was [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] and he drove the crummy moving truck with the dresser and puppies inside.
leo, leo, leo!! if we’re going to bring up pop culture associations (which i must, because this is the life i lead), leo > jasper every time. leo makes me think of sweet leo wyatt from charmed, as well as the lion puppet i had a crush on as a wee one from between the lions, hahaha
jasper, in addition to being the wily, cruel henchman from 101 dalmatians (horace was the fat one, iirc), is also featured in twilight and steven universe, two franchises i would worry would be the association for some time since they’re both so popular. i do like jasper, but i would put it in the middle spot because it has far less potential for nicknames, whereas leo could be lengthened to leon, leonardo, leonard, leopold, etc.
the danger is that [name_m]Leo[/name_m], with its lion meaning, doesn’t fit his personality
New[/name_m]]I prefer [name_m]Leo[/name_m] because it’s short, sweet and simple.
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] is a stronger name to me than [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]… [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] is one of those names like [name_u]Tristan[/name_u] that sounds effeminate and has a milquetoast (bland) quality…
I prefer [name_m]Leo[/name_m], though I do like [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. They’d make a great sibset, in my opinion.
leo! timeless.
I prefer [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. It’s a handsome name and I love the lion imagery. It has a cool vibe and lots of energy. I dislike [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], I think it sounds hissy and pretentious.
I like [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] because of the nature/mineral association. I don’t like [name_m]Leo[/name_m] because it sounds like just a nickname. As a nickname for a longer name though, it’s great.
My favorite is [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. Classic but modern. Short, masculine, but also cute. I also have very positive associations.
Thoughts on [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]: Too trendy for my taste. reminds me of [name_m]Casper[/name_m] (the friendly ghost) Can’t think of a nn I would like either.
