Jean or Jeanne

This is my mother’s name & I am considering as a name I could really see myself using one day. It would be sisters [name]Leonie[/name] & [name]Jeanne[/name] which I think is adorable!

What do you think of the two spellings? Which is better & why?

Does this name have first name potential?

Wdyt of this sibset?

Any suggestions for middles?

Thanks!

Wdyto [name]Jeanne[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name]

[name]Jeanne[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name] is nice. What about an anagram of [name]Jean[/name]: [name]Jane[/name]? It’s awfully similar and personally I think [name]Jane[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name] is gorgeous.

[name]Jeanne[/name] and [name]Leonie[/name] sounds really sweet!

I think ninckname [name]Gigi[/name] could be so cute for [name]Jeanne[/name]!

I think I’m starting to like [name]Jean[/name] more than [name]Jane[/name]

[name]Jean[/name] is my middle name. I would love to see it as a first.

I make a lot of calls at work and one person was named “[name]Jeanne[/name].” It was not pronounced like “[name]Jean[/name]” though (at least she didn’t pronounce it that way. I know it can vary)- more of a softer, French sounding pronunciation. So I would go with [name]Jean[/name] for the spelling.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Jean[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name]!

I like [name]Jeanne[/name] best (it seems more feminine and a little more modern to me that way) but I also quite like [name]Jane[/name] as an anagram. I love [name]Jeanne[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name], it’s very smooth-sounding.

I like both spellings but for some reason with [name]Leonie[/name], I prefer [name]Jeanne[/name]. It just looks better to me, maybe bc seems more frilly than [name]Jean[/name], but it’s [name]Jeanne[/name], it works.

I like [name]Jeanne[/name]! (But love [name]Joan[/name], though I know that’s a little rhymey with your daughter’s name.)

I like [name]Jeanne[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name] in theory, but there are too many long e sounds for my taste. What about…

[name]Jeanne[/name] [name]Felicity[/name]
[name]Jeanne[/name] [name]Magnolia[/name]
[name]Jeanne[/name] [name]Francesca[/name]
[name]Jeanne[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name]

I like [name]Jeanne[/name] better, the spelling looks more feminine to me and I don’t think of jeans(pants) if it’s spelled this way. I like [name]Jeanne[/name]!

With [name]Leonie[/name], I think the spelling [name]Jeanne[/name] would look better (both are French). To English speakers, [name]Jeanne[/name] would be pronounced the same as [name]Jean[/name]. To French speakers, it would be pronounced more softly like" zhen" or “zhahn”.

I think most people would spell it [name]Jean[/name] instead of [name]Jeanne[/name]. [name]Jean[/name] is classic, [name]Jeanne[/name] is more modern.
