Jed for a girl?

I love love love this name for a girl, but can only find it in lists for boys…any thoughts?

Jedda nn [name_m]Jed[/name_m]?

It just doesn’t work imo.

It does sound pretty masculine to me, but it’s rarely used for either gender so I think it’s unlikely that your little girl [name_m]Jed[/name_m] would find herself in a class with four boy Jeds. Her peers probably wouldn’t even realise that she had a “boy” name, so if you’re worried about teasing, I don’t think that it will be a problem.

However, I’d be wary that it might cause confusion on paper throughout her life. It’s not a well-recognised unisex name, or even a boy name that’s more recently “gone girl” - so I think anyone reading the name would assume it belonged to a male. Not necessarily a deal-breaker, but I do think it would get annoying for her and you to constantly have to correct people.

Stop this madness.

No…

Please reconsider

No. Not a kind thing to do to your daughter. [name_m]Jed[/name_m], Ted, [name_m]Ned[/name_m]… are boy’s names. In the end, naming our baby isn’t about us. You should strive to gift her a name that SHE will be proud of.

I don’t think [name_m]Jed[/name_m] could be unisex. Maybe [name_m]Jett[/name_m]??? But not [name_m]Jed[/name_m].

maybe [name_f]Jaida[/name_f], [name_f]Jacinda[/name_f]/[name_f]Jecinda[/name_f], Jedda with the nickname [name_m]Jed[/name_m]

Please do not name your child [name_m]Jed[/name_m]. It could be a nickname for other names (like [name_f]Jayda[/name_f]) but [name_m]Jed[/name_m] as a name will be nothing but a curse on her life. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Jade[/name_f]? That would be a beautiful alternative. [name_m]Jett[/name_m] would work too. Honestly your daughter will probably be very, very unhappy with the name [name_m]Jed[/name_m]. It would be a cruel fate to bestow on her. Please, please reconsider.

Honestly I like it but for your kids sake you should probably find a name it could be a nickname for.

[ I love unisex names so I would love it if you find a way to make it work]

A character from The [name_m]Night[/name_m] Manager is [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] but goes by [name_m]Jed[/name_m] and if I’m honest, she makes me kinda like it!!

For me [name_m]Jed[/name_m] is very masculine…it’s a nn for [name_m]Jedidiah[/name_m]. But if you’re really set on having a daughter that you can call [name_m]Jed[/name_m], perhaps choosing a fn & two middle names that start w/J-E-D would provide you w/the nn [name_m]Jed[/name_m], & your daughter w/some options if she doesn’t like [name_m]Jed[/name_m].

[name_m]Jed[/name_m] just makes me think of Ted and…that’s just a no for a girl. Save [name_m]Jed[/name_m] for a boy.

I really don’t like it for a girl. Maybe as a nickname…
