What are your thoughts on the name [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] for a girl? I know a lot of people people only see [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] as a boy name, but it sounds feminine to me. I also know a lot of people hate names that are traditionally boy names for girls, but I’m fine with it. So I’m wondering if [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] is too much of a “stretch” and everyone would assume she was a boy, and just what people think of the name?
I think it shares a lot of similarities with other unisex names - like [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], [name_u]Addison[/name_u], [name_u]Avery[/name_u], [name_u]Logan[/name_u] or [name_u]Mason[/name_u] - boyish and traditionally masculine but with sounds that link them to girls names and also the potential for girly nicknames. In [name_u]Jensen[/name_u]'s case, she could easily be a [name_f]Jenna[/name_f], [name_f]Jeni[/name_f], [name_f]Jen[/name_f], [name_u]Jessie[/name_u], JJ, or an [name_f]Essie[/name_f]. I think it could work
I went to school with a female [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] in high school, she seems to wear the name well enough. We were never friends, so I don`t know how she really got on in school with it, but I definitely think it works.
This one is all boy to me, and I think people would definitely assume your child is a boy with the name [name_u]Jensen[/name_u].
However, if you like it who cares what people think? [name_f]Essie[/name_f] or [name_f]Jenny[/name_f] would definitely feminize it.
I went to school with a female [name_u]Jensen[/name_u]. I like it!
I prefer it on a boy but I think it works well on any gender, so if you love it on a girl then go for it.
I went to college with a woman named [name_u]Jensen[/name_u]. It suited her well and I never thought it sounded like a male name.
All boy to me…
I don’t really like it on either gender, and would see it more as a boys name but I definitely think a girl could wear it well
I had a female [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] in class a few years ago, so it feels pretty normal to me.
I actually think [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] would be nice on a girl. It falls solidly into the surname category, so I think it can be unisex.
[name_u]Jensen[/name_u] is all male vibes to me…
The very meaning of -sen/-son names being “son of…” makes these names on girls/daughters seem a little bit strange to me. Personally, while I’m not a fan of [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] myself, honestly, it’s a wonder it hasn’t caught on and trended…with the likes of [name_u]Madison[/name_u], [name_u]Addison[/name_u] & Emersen having skyrocketed in recent years for girls, as well as the common [name_f]Jen[/name_f]- prefix in girl’s names like the very common [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f], it really is a wonder that [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] hasn’t taken off, too.
A vote in favor of [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] for a girl! I think it’s cute, wearable, and fits in with the other unisex names out there (like pp’s have noted). But, I love that it’s a little unexpected and can still feel “girly” with a nickname like [name_f]Jennie[/name_f]. I may suggest giving her a more feminine middle, but hey, I really like gender-neutral names so I think it could work.
Some initial thoughts on combos (not knowing surname, of course):

[name_u]Jensen[/name_u] [name_u]Blair[/name_u]
[name_u]Jensen[/name_u] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_u]Jensen[/name_u] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_u]Jensen[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_u]Jensen[/name_u] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_u]Jensen[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] (love the idea of a JJ!)
[name_u]Jensen[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_u]Jensen[/name_u] [name_f]Paige[/name_f]
Everything is used on a girl at this point, so I don’t see why not. I think of [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] Ackles.
I came across a female [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] on a youtube video the other day. It surprised me, but I like it.
The only [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] I know of is [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] [name_m]Arnold[/name_m], who was on So You Think You Can Dance. She’s the second of four sisters, including [name_u]Lindsay[/name_u] (SYTYCD and DWTS), Brynley, and [name_u]Rylee[/name_u] (DWTS Juniors). It reads all girl if you ask me!
