I thought I’d make a post and get some reactions to her naming her DAUGHTER…
[name]Maxwell[/name] [name]Drew[/name] [name]Johnson[/name]
I’m utterly speechless.

Ugh. She could have at least picked a feminine middle name for that extremely masculine first name. Or gone with [name]Maxine[/name], which is you know, the girl’s version of [name]Maxwell[/name] pretty much? Oh and from what I read earlier she’s going to call her [name]Maxi[/name]. Poor kid will be made fun of 24/7
I really don’t like it! I can’t believe she’s given her daughter not one but two very masculine, all boy names! But then, she’s not the brightest is she?
facepalm For the love of all that is holy, [name]Maxwell[/name] is not a girl’s name! There is nothing remotely feminine about it. What was wrong with [name]Maxine[/name]? I really had no expectations for what [name]Jessica[/name] [name]Simpson[/name] was going to name her baby, but geeze, it’s like she wasn’t even trying.
Strongly dislike. First or middle should have been more feminine. Especially since she boasted and bragged about her daughter has no choice but to be a girly girl and won’t play sports. I heard the rumours about the name [name]Maxi[/name]. So why not just call her [name]Maxi[/name]? Ugh.
Sigh. Poor little baby. I’m just going to pretend they named her [name]Maxine[/name] in my head. [name]Maxine[/name] is a perfectly legitimate, acceptable girls name. [name]Baby[/name] [name]Johnson[/name] is going to be [name]Maxine[/name] in my eyes
I don’t think it’s that bad. 1. She’s a celebrity. They do whatever they want name wise. 2. It’s her husbands middle name - [name]Maxwell[/name]. And her mothers maiden name - [name]Drew[/name]. At least she put SOME thought in to it and it seems to be very meaningful. I think if she woulda come out and said that they chose that - it woulda been a little more shocking. But it’s her husbands middle name!! Give it a break!!
Good respectful point of view there. There are alot of celebs that don’t go by their given name too. Would you have guessed that Calamaity [name]Jane[/name]'s real name was [name]Martha[/name] [name]Jane[/name]? And [name]Ted[/name] Nugent real name is [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Anthony[/name].
@sunrise16–I’m glad you knew that. I had read an article a while back that said when people heard the name, they’d understand why it was chosen, but I certainly didn’t. I think the name is a very nice name…for a boy…a girl, not so much.
For some reason I think it would be better if she had used [name]Dru[/name] instead of [name]Drew[/name]? I’m not very hard on other’s names though because I like strange names. For some reason, the less sense it makes to others, the more edgy and appealing it seems to me. Haha
Hmm, I’m not sure so sure about that I think [name]Bronx[/name] is better off; at least people will know what gender he is and that his parents don’t look like they were wishing for the other sex. Surely they could have saved [name]Maxwell[/name] for a future child, or at least given the girl a feminine name to cling on to and if she’s going to call her ‘[name]Maxi[/name]’ [name]Maxine[/name] would make much more sense.
Lastly, just because someone uses [name]Taylor[/name], [name]Maxwell[/name], [name]Morgan[/name], [name]Riley[/name], [name]Elliot[/name], [name]Logan[/name] on a girl, doesn’t make it right. This will only encourage parents to take other boys names and use them on girls and that’s why celebrities don’t have different rules to us normal folk as we for some reason, unknown to me, we are so inspired by their choices.
I love the name for a boy!
Eh. I’m glad they used family names with meaning, but for all that she raved about wanting a girly-girl, the poor kid is forever going to be mistaken by those who only read the name as being a boy. Start the countdown to when her first draft-notice comes…
[name]Alexis[/name]
P.S. My sister and I agree that [name]Lindsay[/name] [name]Sloane[/name] is probably really angry today that [name]Jessica[/name] has stolen her baby’s cool, unique name.
It’s just annoying, because so many boys names are getting a ‘girly’ vibe to them, and girls have plenty of names as it is! But…like people have said… I doubt this will make an impact on regular people’s naming plans…though who knows? And…yes, it actually is better than [name]Bronx[/name] [name]Mowgli[/name].
@pepper[name]Ingram[/name] you make a fair point about poor little [name]Bronx[/name] [name]Mowgli[/name]. It is a ridiculous name!
Thing with [name]Jessica[/name] Simpsons name choice is I would love it,if she’d had a boy. Seems like a waste of really strong boy name to me!
A pp mentioned celebrities can do what they want re naming their children, which I think is unfortunate. These children may grow and want to be Dr’s,teachers etc.it’s so inconsiderate.

Nope, sorry she didn’t put much thought into it. “Thought” would be not taking it so literally and using [name]Maxima[/name], [name]Maxine[/name], [name]McKinley[/name], McCrae, [name]McKayla[/name], or [name]McKenna[/name] which could all give the nn [name]Max[/name]/[name]Mack[/name]. Or using some imagination and coming up with something like [name]Dru[/name] [name]Maxwell[/name] or McDrew [name]Wellesley[/name]
So what will they do if baby #2 is a boy? [name]Jessica[/name]'s middle name is [name]Ann[/name], is that going to be her son’s name? Of course not because it is horrible to give boys girl names (which were boy names originally) but girls can have any name under the sun and people call it cute
Oh well, it’s not my kid that has to live with a silly name
The nn [name]Maxi[/name] reminds me of [name]Maxi[/name] pads…just sayin.
Ugh, makes me think of [name]Maxi[/name]-Pad. NOT GOOD. I like the middle name, and I do like the first name, but not both of those for a girl. I hope they call her [name]Max[/name] and not [name]Maxi[/name].
At least I’m not the only one who thought of [name]Maxi[/name] pads. :>
I think it is weird only because she has been SO dramatic and vocal about her daughter not being a Tomboy and how “she’ll croak if her little doesn’t love playing dress-up and wearing heels…” …then she goes and gives her such masculine names. Strange.
