John or Joseph or Jonah

How would you rank these and why.

Brother to Gabriel if it makes any difference?

I love [name_u]Jonah[/name_u]. Such a peaceful, gentle yet cool sounding name

Firstly [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] is lovely!

[name_u]Joseph[/name_u] ~ this is my favourite from the three names I think [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] sounds soft, wholesome and very classic. He has positive biblical associations and I like the nicknames [name_u]Joe[/name_u] & [name_u]Joss[/name_u]. [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] & [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] sound lovely together.

[name_u]Jonah[/name_u] ~ my second favourite I think he’s lovely [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] feels peaceful, outdoorsy and wholesome. I think the biblical story surrounding [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] would be cool to read to a child and I like the meaning ā€˜dove’. [name_f]My[/name_f] only hangup is my Dad would always refer to a [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] as someone ā€˜who brings bad luck’ it’s old sailor folklore but really sticks in my mind with [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] annoyingly!

[name_u]John[/name_u] ~ my third favourite (going to class him as a third favourite because I still love him) [name_u]John[/name_u] is a strong biblical underused classic. He’s timeless and very underused I also like the meaning ā€˜G-d is gracious’ I think [name_u]John[/name_u] is lovely. [name_u]John[/name_u] is also my dads name so a positive association.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] but you actually cannot go wrong with any of these three :blue_heart:

[name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] & [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] sound fantastic together. They’re both so soft and gentle, but also have great strength

[name_u]Joseph[/name_u] is my favourite of the three. It’s a lovely name. I also quite like [name_u]Jonah[/name_u]. Somehow the -ah ending gives it a youthful feeling. [name_u]John[/name_u] is a fine name but I personally don’t like it very much. To it seems a bit dated and dull. [name_u]John[/name_u], [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] and [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] could all work well as a brother to [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u].

In general: [name_u]John[/name_u] > [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] > [name_u]Jonah[/name_u]

But with [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u]: [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] > [name_u]John[/name_u] > [name_u]Joseph[/name_u]

But if you are looking for suggestions, I think that [name_m]Jonas[/name_m] has the edge on [name_u]Jonah[/name_u]. First because of how it sounds, and second because [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] in the Bible was not a great prophet in my opinion.

I think [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] is the softest and most ā€œcurrent.ā€ It’s a great match for [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] and I love the peaceful meaning.

[name_u]John[/name_u] would be my next pick. It’s a great classic that I don’t hear very often.

[name_u]Joseph[/name_u] feels dated to me, though I like [name_u]Joey[/name_u].

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

I think that [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] is my favorite over [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] by just a tad. It’s handsome & sweet & classic. That all being said, I think I’d give [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] the edge because I don’t care for [name_u]Joe[/name_u] or [name_u]Joey[/name_u]. And with [name_u]Joseph[/name_u], it feels more like you’re likely to get nns. [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] has the nns [name_u]Joe[/name_u] & [name_u]Joey[/name_u] too, but most [name_m]Jonahs[/name_m] are just [name_m]Jonahs[/name_m]. [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] & [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] would be perfect as brothers too.

[name_u]John[/name_u] isn’t a bad name, but it’s just kind of meh. I like it for the nn [name_u]Jack[/name_u], but that’s kind of it.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

I think I love [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] the most, and I’ve never met one. But [name_u]John[/name_u] & [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] are so lovely and timeless, and they have nicknames. It’s a hard choice. They all work beautifully with [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u]. But maybe [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] is best, because it’s a more ā€œmodernā€ Bible name in terms of popular usage, like Gabriel…?

I like [name_u]John[/name_u] best, then [name_u]Jonah[/name_u]! [name_u]John[/name_u] would be a lovely brother to [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u].

[name_u]John[/name_u], [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] and [name_u]Jonah[/name_u], in this order.

[name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] is a lovely, traditional but not overused name. [name_u]John[/name_u] and [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] give the same vibe, because even if [name_u]John[/name_u] is the most popular name in history, how many [name_u]John[/name_u] or [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] under 5 do you know?

[name_u]Jonah[/name_u] feels a bit more trendy. It’s still a really nice name, and I do think it would make a great brother to [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u].

I prefer [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] to [name_u]John[/name_u] and both to [name_u]Joseph[/name_u], especially with [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u]!

[name_u]Joseph[/name_u] > [name_u]John[/name_u] > [name_u]Jonah[/name_u]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] based on sound/vibe! I think [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] or [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] work best with [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u], [name_u]John[/name_u] feels a little short. (Unless [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] often goes by Gabe). Really, though, you don’t have any bad choices here.
