So [name_u]Journey[/name_u] was one of the first girl names on my list, which eventually turned into [name_f]Journei[/name_f]. Same pronunciation, just different spelling.
I haven’t really seen a whole lot of people use this name, but I feel like it’s a mixed bag - especially with this particular spelling. Thoughts? Possible nn’s?
[name_u]Journey[/name_u] and [name_f]Journei[/name_f] aren’t my style but I prefer [name_u]Journey[/name_u] over [name_f]Journei[/name_f] since I pronounce them differently.

Thanks for the suggestions! [name_m]Just[/name_m] wondering, but how do you pronounce [name_f]Journei[/name_f]? Is it more like “jer-nay” than “jer-knee”?
I pronounce [name_u]Journey[/name_u] as jur-nee and [name_f]Journei[/name_f] as jur-nay, definitely prefer the first one, lovely name!

I pronounce [name_u]Journey[/name_u] like Jer-nee and I would assume [name_f]Journei[/name_f] is Jer-nay.

[name_f]Journei[/name_f] looks like jur-nay to me and I don’t like how it looks. I much prefer [name_u]Journey[/name_u].
Maybe [name_f]Jinny[/name_f] as a nickname?

Hmm…I think the pronunciation might get messed up quite frequently with this spelling. As others have said, the -ei ending makes me want to say jer-NAY. That’s not to say you can’t use it, but I would advise against it if it will bother you to have to constantly correct the pronunciation and spelling of it.
Not just the -nay vs. -nee ending, journey is jurnee to me, whereas journei would be jour-nay. kind of like gourmet, I guess?
I love the name but I would spell it [name_u]Journey[/name_u].
I’d spell it [name_u]Journey[/name_u] too, or even [name_f]Journee[/name_f]. [name_f]Journei[/name_f] would be jer-nay to me.
I like it!
I’m always having to correct people with the spelling/pronunciation of my name so I’m probably going to rule [name_f]Journei[/name_f] out.
That being said, how do we feel about [name_f]Journee[/name_f]? I’m not sure I like how that looks.
Definitely use [name_u]Journey[/name_u]! Not only will it not be mispronounced, but it also probably won’t be misspelled! Best of luck!!

I love [name_u]Journey[/name_u] but [name_f]Journei[/name_f] looks a bit awkward to me and I’d wonder if it was pronounced jer-nye or jer-nay instead of jer-nee.
I agree with the others, I would go with [name_u]Journey[/name_u] spelling over journei or journee. Simply because it’s going to be a fairly unique name as it is, but most people will know how to pronounce and spell [name_u]Journey[/name_u] without losing the unique factor. (Edited to add I just looked it up and I guess the [name_f]Journee[/name_f] spelling is slightly more popular, so maybe would be more familiar for people?)
I think it’s a cute name, and know a little [name_f]Journee[/name_f] who wears it well
I would never, ever even think to pronounce [name_f]Journei[/name_f] was anything but “jur-nee.” The name isn’t my style, but I definitely think you’re safe in 2021 to use [name_f]Journei[/name_f] without issue. I like [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] as a nn.
