So our baby arrived 10 weeks early, and we had not agreed on a name. After much debate I called him [name_u]Jude[/name_u] (despite quite a lot of opposition). Now I’m just not sure, people seem to love it or hate it. It’s a name that is rising in popularity where I live (not [name_u]America[/name_u]) and I don’t want him to have to be known by his first and last name. (My last name is not that great).
My husband and I both like [name_m]Otto[/name_m] as does most of our family, but I had my heart set on [name_u]Jude[/name_u], but now it just seems off.
Opinions?
I think that [name_u]Jude[/name_u] is lovely, but maybe you could use both?
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Otto[/name_m] or [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]?
I like the above suggestion of [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]
I really like both names but [name_m]Otto[/name_m] seems like the right name. I think it’s super cute. [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] is a great suggestion! [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] or [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_u]Dexter[/name_u] would be adorable (those are on my list
I love both these names. [name_u]Jude[/name_u] is my top contender for a future boy, and [name_m]Otto[/name_m] would would also be a top contender if it wasn’t already used within the family. Perhaps examine why [name_u]Jude[/name_u] now feels off to you … is it simply because of the negative feedback you’ve been given? If you still love it and it’s only others’ opinions that have affected how you feel, I would stick with [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. But if you feel like you’ve had a fundamental shift and that [name_m]Otto[/name_m] feels more right for you personally, I see no reason why you shouldn’t change it! Maybe try calling you son by both names and see which one feels ‘right’ on him? Does he seem more like a [name_u]Jude[/name_u] or an [name_m]Otto[/name_m]?
Good luck on making your decision!
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] is my favorite, love it!
