Jude's longer forms

[name_m]Ah[/name_m], the “Ju” names. As a long time lover of [name_u]Jude[/name_u] with a penchant for nicknames, I have long searched for the ideal longer form. [name_m]Julian[/name_m] “[name_u]Jude[/name_u]” topped my list for a solid three years, and I still love him. I’m just exploring my options.

I grew up with a guy named [name_u]Justice[/name_u] and went through a phase of really liking the name. I’m more lukewarm now, but I am beginning to really appreciate the spelling [name_m]Justus[/name_m] after meeting several in college.

I have only ever met one person named [name_m]Judah[/name_m] and I really think I could love this name. It’s a nice mix of [name_m]Julian[/name_m] and [name_u]Micah[/name_u], who are both on my list. The tie to Southern [name_m]Israel[/name_m] is obvious, but that is fine with me. This may be becoming my new favorite.

I know that [name_m]Judas[/name_m] is 110% OUT. The [name_m]Judas[/name_m] Iscariot tie will always be too strong, especially since I am from the Southern United States and am a devout [name_m]Christian[/name_m]. It’s a shame that the name is ruined though, especially since there are several positive Biblical figures by this name.

[name_m]Julius[/name_m] is a nice tie between [name_m]Julian[/name_m] and [name_m]Judas[/name_m]. This could certainly be an option as well.

What are your thoughts? What is your favorite “Ju” name?

I like just [name_u]Jude[/name_u] on is own best, followed by [name_m]Judah[/name_m] then [name_m]Julian[/name_m].

[name_m]How[/name_m] about Judea?

I second Judea.

I really like [name_m]Judah[/name_m]!

I really like [name_u]Jude[/name_u], by itself, which works, or a nickname from: [name_m]Judson[/name_m]. I also like the name [name_u]Jordan[/name_u], and [name_u]Jude[/name_u] could work as a nickname for [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] in my opinion. [name_u]Jude[/name_u] could also be a nickname for a boy whose initials are JD, especially if the first name has a u.
