Which one do you like the most for a baby of today? [name]How[/name] about with middle name [name]Soleil[/name] or [name]Elizabeth[/name] (probably the first)? Next to siblings [name]Alexander[/name], [name]Evan[/name], and [name]Stella[/name]?
I really love [name]Julia[/name]. I think it’s so classic and understated. I don’t really like [name]Soleil[/name], but I like [name]Julia[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name].
Thanks for the two positive responses to [name]Julia[/name]!
@shanmiller9, the middle name will probably be [name]Soleil[/name], so do you like [name]Julia[/name] [name]Soleil[/name] as much as [name]Julia[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]?
Out of these options, I prefer [name]Juliana[/name]. I find [name]Juliana[/name] elegant yet down to earth, very familiar yet not totally expected.
[name]Julia[/name] is so classic and beautiful, but I have met countless girls and women with this name and the original [name]Roman[/name] charm is not quite enough to keep me interested. That said, I think she would work wonderfully with your other names.
I would definitely choose [name]Julia[/name], which is near the very top of my list of favorites. If I had twin or triplet girls right now, there is no question we would name one of them [name]Julia[/name].
Looking at your list, in second place, it would be a tough choice between [name]Juliana[/name] and [name]Julianna[/name]. I like them both. The drawback to these two choices is that her name will be misspelled (and maybe mispronounced) since no one will intuitively know whether to use one or two Ns and whether the first A is pronounced “a” as in apple or “aw.”
The only name from your list I would NOT put on the birth certificate is [name]Julie[/name] because it is nicknamey and informal, imo. It’s fine as a nn though.
In summary: [name]Julia[/name] is flawless. I consider it the classiest of the choices and a [name]Julia[/name] will have no spelling or pronunciation issues. I would go with [name]Julia[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], which I think has the better flow.
I like [name]Julianna[/name] [name]Soleil[/name] to go with her siblings. [name]Evan[/name] & [name]Stella[/name] have shorter, 2 syllable names, flanked by [name]Alexander[/name] and [name]Julianna[/name] with 4 syllables each. If you’re using [name]Soleil[/name] as a mn (which I like a lot), a longer fn name works best. If you use [name]Julie[/name], you should use [name]Elizabeth[/name] as a middle, for best flow. That’s my 2 cents worth
Obviously, I prefer [name]Julia[/name]. I also love [name]Juliana[/name] but hubby wasn’t on board. I think [name]Julia[/name] sounds best with [name]Alexander[/name], [name]Evan[/name], and [name]Stella[/name] as well; [name]Julia[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] would be my combo pick.
Thanks for all the responses! You’ve all definitely pegged what I like and dislike about all the choices ([name]Julia[/name] - Gorgeous, yet maybe a bit too popular. [name]Juliana[/name]/anna - equally as gorgeous, but spelling problems and maybe a bit “too much” name, and [name]Julie[/name] - SO cute, yet very nickname-like).
I do like the idea of siblings [name]Stella[/name], [name]Evan[/name], [name]Alexander[/name], and [name]Julianna[/name] making it cohesive with the syllables a lot. I don’t think I like [name]Julianna[/name] with either of my picked middles though… yet I adore [name]Julie[/name] [name]Soleil[/name], [name]Julie[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], and [name]Julia[/name] [name]Soleil[/name] quite a lot!
[name]Julie[/name] is my favourite, but with the possible middle name you pick, I’ll choose [name]Julia[/name]. [name]Julia[/name] [name]Soleil[/name] is so pretty, so does [name]Julia[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. I’m not really a fan of [name]Julianna[/name].
Woops. Sorry for the late reply. Thanks to everyone for the opinions! I don’t think I’ve sorted this out anymore than I had before, haha. Maybe nixing [name]Julianna[/name], but still not sure!
I’m not a fan of [name]Julianne[/name], it sounds a lot more dated than the other options to me.
