I really like this name a lot but I have two major concerns with picking it. First, our last name starts with a J and I’m not sure it’s ok to have that double J sound. Secondly, our son’s name is [name]Tate[/name] and I want something that fits with his name at least a little bit. I don’t know if [name]Juniper[/name] does. So, what are some thoughts about this?
I love [name]Juniper[/name]. [name]Junie[/name] or [name]June[/name] are both such cute nicknames. In fact, if a friend of ours didn’t already have a [name]Juniper[/name] it would be at the top of my list.
I think it goes great with [name]Tate[/name] and I wouldn’t worry about the Double J, alliterative names are actually pleasing to the ear. That’s why there are so many celebs that have alliterative names as stage names.
Thanks for your input. I think it sounds ok with [name]Tate[/name] too but when I mentioned it to my niece, she didn’t seem to think so. And she immediately brought up the fact that she would be JJ, so I started to worry.
My name’s alliterative (middle name too!) and I’ve always loved it. [name]Tate[/name]'s a really handsome name - it’ll go with anything won’t it? And most importantly… [name]Juniper[/name] is a totally stunning name, I simply adore it! It was on our middle name list for a while
Thanks, ritapumpkinina. Between the two of you, I’m really feeling much better about this.
It’s so sweet! I like how it’s a little quirky and different, but at the same time, easy to spell and say…and has great nicknames ([name]June[/name], [name]Juni[/name], JJ) if she’s wanting to feel a little more mainstream at some point.
[name]Just[/name] thought of the nn Nipper lol maybe more of a pet name but it’s cute. [name]Glad[/name] you’re feeling better about it, 'tis a darling name.
I love [name]Juniper[/name]! I think it’s perfect with [name]Tate[/name] and I don’t think it’s a problem with the JJ initials. I think JJ could actually be a really cute nn, and I love the alliteration. I would love to meet a [name]Tate[/name] and [name]Juniper[/name] as siblings!
Good luck!
Thanks everyone! You’ve really helped me feel a lot better about this name. I really love it so much and I’m glad to see that you all have an affection for it as well. So far it seems that most people either love it or hate it.
I like the name [name]Juniper[/name] alright but I think it depends on what your last name is, I think [name]Juniper[/name] [name]Jackson[/name] and [name]Juniper[/name] Jacobson are ok but [name]Juniper[/name] [name]Johnson[/name] or [name]Juniper[/name] [name]Jones[/name] dont sound as good (sorry if one of these is your last name).
[name]LOVE[/name]! Also love the nickname [name]June[/name]! Goes great with tate! My name was triple M’s until I got married and I loved it!
I also [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Juniper[/name]!!!
[name]Juniper[/name] is fabulous. It really is. And with [name]Tate[/name], it’s a great sib-set, not trying too hard but flowing perfectly. [name]Tate[/name] and [name]Juniper[/name], [name]Juniper[/name] and [name]Tate[/name], I love it! From the surnames I can come up with in my head they all sound good. The only way it wouldn’t work is if it was something like [name]Juniper[/name] Junker (who has that surname right? LOL) because of the repeated J and repeated ER sounds. [name]Juniper[/name] [name]Johnson[/name], [name]Juniper[/name] [name]Jones[/name] etc all sound good. [name]Juniper[/name] jones actually reminds me of the actress [name]January[/name] [name]Jones[/name]
I wonder if [name]Juniper[/name] will become popular within the next decade? I really like more uncommon names-staying away from anything in top 250 at the moment. Does anyone see this name breaking into the top 100?
No, I think its just popular on nameberry and probably one or two other boards but my guess is a majority of people wouldnt even realize [name]Juniper[/name] is considered a first name.
I agree with thetxbelle, I don’t see a [name]Juniper[/name] taking off like that at all.
[name]Juniper[/name] is adorable. And I personally dont mind double letters in initials.
[name]Juniper[/name] is such a wonderful name!! I wouldn’t worry about the double J’s either…
