Just a quick question about "Brady"...

I’m not pregnant, but the “baby” word has started circulating in and out of our conversations pretty frequently. My husband and I have been decided on our boy name for years now:

[name]Brady[/name] [name]William[/name] [name]Rice[/name] ([name]Williams[/name] being my maiden name)

I’m in love with everything about this name, but I’m unsure about one little thing… So, here’s my question:

When you hear the name “[name]BRADY[/name]”, does your mind automatically wander to the name “[name]BRAYDEN[/name]”? I am in love with my [name]Brady[/name]. I think it is very distinguished and has the feel I want it to have. However, I have never been a fan of [name]Brayden[/name] and would hate for my son’s name to be confused with this overly popular name.

[name]Do[/name] YOU think [name]Brady[/name] is a name all its own? Thanks in advance for your opinions!

***UPDATED!!! Thank you all so much for posting! I am so excited. You all said exactly what I wanted to hear! Please feel free to continue posting your opinions. I just wanted to take the time to thank those of you who already have. [name]Brady[/name] it is!

Yes, I think [name]Brayden[/name], and [name]Brendan[/name] and [name]Brody[/name] etc etc. I also think of the [name]Brady[/name] bunch. I think I understand the feel that you’re going for, but unfortunately I think there is too much baggage in the way for this name to actually reach that feel, if you know what I mean. Sort of like [name]Isabella[/name] carries the baggage of popularity that keeps it from achieving its true exotic flair.

I think of [name]Brady[/name] as a strong name independent of those other, trendier names.

No,I don’t think of [name]Brayden[/name] at all.

My first son is [name]Brady[/name] and I never think for [name]Brayden[/name] or [name]Brody[/name]. Of course, when I picked his name 18 years ago there were no Bradys…

Being a fan of the NE Patriots, I used to think of [name]Tom[/name] [name]Brady[/name], which is a good thing unless he isn’t playing so well! =). I like the name.

[name]Brady[/name] is my top choice for a little boy also!! When I meet someone named [name]Brady[/name] (it’s getting more and more popular) I never wonder if his name is really something else. I think it stands alone beautifully!!!

I really dont connect [name]Brady[/name] to [name]Brayden[/name] at all. I see them as two distinct names.

I think of [name]Brady[/name] as its own name, and would not make a connection to [name]Brayden[/name] or [name]Braeden[/name]. I think of them as distinctly different names. : )

I think it can be a name on it’s own, and I think it can be a nickname for [name]Bradley[/name] to!

I like [name]Brady[/name] - I never associate it with [name]Brayden[/name] or assume it’s a nickname or anything.

I love the name [name]Brady[/name], its so cute…I definately dont think [name]Brayden[/name], never have…To me its a completly different name. I have never liked the name [name]Brayden[/name] either…i dont like the sound of it.

I don’t see it as a nickname, either.

I like [name]Brady[/name], very much. I think it’s a perfect stand-alone name and doesn’t require the mess that is [name]Brayden[/name]/[name]Braiden[/name]/[name]Braydyn[/name], etc. Honestly, when I hear [name]Brayden[/name], I think: I wonder if he goes by [name]Brady[/name]. He should go by [name]Brady[/name]. Why didn’t they just choose [name]Brady[/name]?

Haha! You’re awesome. I often think the same thing, too. I just reeeaalllyyy don’t like the “[name]Brayden[/name]” names. I’m glad that those who have commented agree with me. [name]Brady[/name] is definitely set in stone now, thanks to all of y’all!
