My DH and I are having a lot of trouble agreeing on names. His names include:
[name]Samantha[/name]
[name]Kendra[/name]
[name]Courtney[/name]
[name]John[/name]
[name]Jason[/name]
[name]Michael[/name]
These are all names from our childhood, not names I want to name my child. Names I like are:
[name]London[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name]
[name]Scarlet[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Archer[/name]
[name]Sterling[/name]
Any suggestions on names that we can both agree on
If your DH is an analytical kind of guy, you might show him some of the popularity charts on Nameberry for the names he likes – maybe he’ll be persuaded if he sees that most are heading straight downhill. You don’t want to give your child a name that’s really become a Mom or Dad name and that will always make him or her feel 20 years older than they are!
Or is there someone you’d like to honor with the name? Maybe you could find something workable from that. Another idea is going for a classic that isn’t either 1990s or 2010s. Some possibilities:
I think more traditional options maybe, such as [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Madeleine[/name], [name]Theodore[/name], [name]James[/name], [name]Oliver[/name]?
I agree that he needs to look at how dated and unpopular these names are now.
[name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Michael[/name] would work, and maybe [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Samantha[/name]? A name from each of your lists.
