Would you pair two sisters - one wiht a unisex name and the other with a non-unisex name? for example [name]Riley[/name] with either [name]Gemma[/name] or [name]Madeline[/name]?
Yes!! I definitely would…being me :).
[name]Riley[/name] and [name]Gemma[/name]/[name]Madeline[/name] sound great together!
~[name]Jasmine[/name]
No, I would keep them in the same style. Sorry, it just bothers me, especially when they are of the same sex.
It would bother me to have a frilly girl name on one and a uni-sex or more masculine name on the other. [name]Madeline[/name] is pretty and soft, [name]Riley[/name] is a boys name to me (even though I’ve met a girl with the name).
I probably wouldn’t. I think the styles are too disparate. I don’t think styles have to match completely, but I would try to keep them relatively in the same grouping. But honestly in the end, if it’s the name I love the most it’s what I’m going to use.
Nope, but then again I don’t like boy names on girls, so I wouldn’t ever think about using something like [name]Riley[/name] on a girl.
I’m not hell-bent on making sure styles match or anything like that, but I do like cohesiveness. [name]One[/name] boy name on a girl and one girl name on a girl isn’t really that cohesive as a whole, in my opinion.
No, I would definitely keep the same style, sorry. [name]Even[/name] though my name ([name]Ashley[/name]) is seen as very feminine these days, it’s still very much unisex to me, and I’m reminded of that every time I see my uncle (whose MN is [name]Ashley[/name]) and every time he talks about his brother (whose FN is [name]Ashley[/name]). My siblings all have very strong names that suit their genders ([name]John[/name], [name]Rebecca[/name], and [name]Natalie[/name]), so I’ve always felt a bit left out and I still wish I had a fully feminine name. If you already have a [name]Riley[/name], I would keep with something like [name]Harper[/name] or [name]Aubrey[/name] or [name]Addison[/name], and if you already have a [name]Gemma[/name], I would stick with something equally European chic, like [name]Lucia[/name], [name]Elodie[/name], or [name]Katerina[/name], etc.
I agree with all of this.
I would keep all of mine in the same family as well.
[name]Riley[/name], [name]Carmen[/name], [name]Cameron[/name], [name]Rory[/name], [name]Harper[/name], [name]Aubrey[/name], [name]Avery[/name].
[name]Gemma[/name], [name]Madeline[/name], [name]Evangeline[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Eloise[/name], [name]Marissa[/name].
same family. Use a girly name as the middle?
