Just seen a name on TV!

I was watching MasterChef (UK) on TV and there was a chef named [name]Larkin[/name] on there, I’ve never seen anyone named this in real life or on TV before. I think I’ve just gained another name crush.
Sorry about the pointless post, but I had to share my excitement as the name sounded so handsome!

Ha, I’m always wanting to share my exciting name finds too :stuck_out_tongue: Have you ever watched The Darling Buds of [name]May[/name]? It was a series around the early 90s with [name]David[/name] [name]Jason[/name] & [name]Pam[/name] [name]Ferris[/name]- they repeat it on ITV3 all the time. [name]One[/name] of my favourite programmes  Anyhow, the family in that are called [name]Larkin[/name] so that’s my main association. It’s a surname name to me

I have seen it but I was quite young and hardly remember but my mother is very fond of it haha. It is a lovely name but I agree, it does sound like a surname which would probably clash with my surname because it’s a surname that can be used as a first name.
Ahh well, perhaps as a middle name one day :stuck_out_tongue:

I think of poet [name]Philip[/name] [name]Larkin[/name] and Irish labour leader [name]James[/name] [name]Larkin[/name] (1876-1947) when I hear this name. It’s a unisex name as well. It’s not a favourite but it’s not bad either. I would categorize it as an unisex Irish surname. I prefer [name]Lorcan[/name].
