So my boyfriend LOVES the name [name_m]Kaiser[/name_m] for a boy. I like it too, especially since it can shorten to [name_u]Kai[/name_u]. But I feel like [name_m]Kaiser[/name_m] is such a harsh sounding name and I am not a fan of the meaning either. I feel like Kaissen keeps the unique sound of [name_m]Kaiser[/name_m] without the harshness. I am a huge fan of unique names, and Kaissen is an extremely unpopular name (I only found it on one name website but not this one). There are a few people with the name Kaissen so it isn’t completely unheard of, which I also like. Any thoughts? Is Kaissen just too weird?
I’d go with [name_m]Kaiser[/name_m].
I’m not a huge fan of made up names but then I’m even less of a “tacky” word names fan, “tacky” because I’m [name_m]German[/name_m] and [name_m]Kaiser[/name_m], to me, is like naming your child [name_m]King[/name_m] or [name_f]Queen[/name_f], it’s a title not a name.
So, I suppose my vote goes to Kaissen or just [name_u]Kai[/name_u].
This, minus the whole being [name_m]German[/name_m] part. Well, I am, but not [name_m]German[/name_m] [name_m]German[/name_m]. lol
I’d go with Kaissen. [name_m]Kaiser[/name_m] sounds odd to me as a person’s name, and the connection with WWI isn’t very positive.
[name_m]Kaiser[/name_m] doesn’t sound right as a first name to me. It would be the same as naming a kid Emperor or President, in my opinion.
That said, I really dislike Kaissen. I think your best option would be to just go with [name_u]Kai[/name_u]!
I really dislike both [name_m]Kaiser[/name_m] and Kaissen. [name_m]Kaiser[/name_m] is just odd as a name, its like calling your son Emperor or [name_m]King[/name_m]. Kaissen sounds odd in general, and I don’t like made up names.
My suggestions to you would be [name_m]Caius[/name_m] and [name_m]Cassius[/name_m]/an. [name_m]Caius[/name_m] is linguistically similar to [name_m]Kaiser[/name_m], and [name_m]Cassius[/name_m]/an have a similar feel to Kaissen. All of them could work with the nickname [name_u]Kai[/name_u]/[name_u]Cai[/name_u].
I don’t like Kaiser as a name so I would pick Kaissen. I think the spelling Kaison might be a little easier for him.
I found some other names that could have the nn Cai/Kai…
Cairo
Ikaia
Kaiden
Kailen
Kaison
Kaius or Caius (kye-us)
Makai
Makaia (muh-kye-uh)
Nakai
Nakaia (nuh-kye-uh)
Zakai
Zakaia (zuh-kye-uh)
I really don’t care for Kaissen or [name_m]Kaiser[/name_m], sorry. Some already great suggestions have been mentioned, just wanted to add [name_m]Cassian[/name_m], and second the suggestion of just going with [name_u]Kai[/name_u] if you love it!
I assume you aren’t in the states, when I see [name_m]Kaiser[/name_m], I think/see [name_m]Kaiser[/name_m] roll. :-/. I’d personally go with Kaissen, however the same association may not apply outside of the U.S. and if that’s the case, I prefer [name_m]Kaiser[/name_m].
